This thread more or less is ment to be the town square. It kind of got bounced around on it's subject matter however. We can close and display case this thread + make newer thread specific to their topics, rename it the "town square" (or something not so copy pasta from board2) + start a introduction thread, or we can just keep going and see how far we can get with this thread in the post count.

I propose it you guys! Tell us what you would like to see! :)
I'm split on this myself, it would be nice to have the very first thread in the display case as the first proper thread (not counting GM's thread). But at the same time, I hate it seeing it closed... :p

Town square works for now.

What's your sexuality? (obviously optional question as not everyone might want to answer this)

Favorite food?

A friend of mine was nice enough to draw my persona Ailure as a Team Fortress 2 spy back in 2008. However he was going for a semi-realistic angle, couldn't get it right and out of frustration drew a chibi image as a joke (most pictures of Ailure was rather stylized at that point). I still play Team Fortress 2 but I don't play spy as much anymore, I'm more of a demoman guy nowadays (although to be honest I pretty much play all classes).

I recently started parsing data through the Steam Web API, and had quite some fun with it. And the things I want to do with it is constantly on my mind.

And the various things I want to try out in Dota2. Still relatively a newbie to the whole MOBA genre, but willing to learn and soak in knowledge.

Reminds me of how you could make 4D levels, by deliberately connecting tangential vertices, in the map editor of Descent.
It's a funny quirk, although most levels using it would wind up being rather... well gimmicky!

Descent maps were quite fun to make though.

It is mainly the courtesy, in not pretending the linked content is part of your site.
Honestly that's the first time I heard about that, and to be honest I get a little annoyed if every other link opened a new tab when I don't mean to. I do middle-mouseclick a lot (which open links in new tabs) but I still want it to be up to me what the behavior is.

It makes sense to create a separate window sometimes, but those are (relatively rare) cornercases.

We can use warp whistles, right? Oh god, I'm gonna get my ass kicked on world 8 within 5 minutes.
It would be over within 15-20 minutes if warp whistles is involved, most of the time being spent on the annoying autoscroll levels in World 8 (if you have replayed the game countless times, the autoscroll levels feels REALLY REALLY slow). For the record the current TAS record is 10:25.6 minutes with warps and 47:04.7 minutes without warp whistles. Most people who have played SMB3 should be able to do it within two hours if they skip stages and rush through most of the game.

Do you have a spare invite?
Half my Steam friendlist have asked for spare invites by now. And no, I don't.

Ailure: Hmm.. 47min~ and 10min~ eh? Has anyone tried Allstars? (I mean yeah.. that's just own bias showing.)
I think people prefer TAS runs with the orginal version, however I can imagine Allstars either being slower (cause the time from when you start the game to when you get into the action counts), or faster (less lag when a lot of things is happening?).

Plenty of NES games did. I seem to recall SMB3 did at times, but nothing major (basically easy to miss lag). I think some ROM hacks of SMB3 would be guilty of introducing lag due to the complexity some of them like to do.

Trelior: I think a 100% speedrun would increase the required time to finish by quite a bit. But if people are crazy enough to be up for that. ;)

I think it's more fun to do it live though. :P

I definatly would like to stream while having the other players in my second monitor.

I think we should do a game this weekend. :) Especially as I want to test out a stream setup, should be fun to keep track of other streams and probably have the stream of the leader on my other monitor. ;)

Edit: I set up my streaming set up now. I'm waiting for the race to start. Xsplit with twitch.tv works wonderfully, although i might try out other streaming solutions later.

Yup, Super Mario Bros. 3 in 01:14:58. Still quite some room for improvement, especially when you consider that people manage to do it in less than a hour... and hopefully maybe i would be able to achieve that if i keep trying.

OpenTTD hands down is my favorite simulator, but Simcity 4 is close to that. Wish that more people pickd up openTTD and Simcity 4 (A lot of people ignore anything beyond Simcity 2000 sadly).

Thought I always been weak for the sim games, sadly only The sims have been decently. Otherwise after Simcity 4, anything else with sim in have been shit. :( Spore was a disappointment.

Kiyoshi: I played the original The sims out of nostalagia recently, but the lack of customization bugs. I really like the personality system in The sims 3 since it's less... statbased. I love to put on funny flaws. :p

OpenTTD and Simcity 4 have depth. The sims is not really as deep but makes it up for the insane customization that I yet have to see in other games. There are some roleplaying games that tries, but they all fall short compared to The sims.

199?-200?: Speltoken which is swedish for...
200?-2003: Gamefreak19, not based on Pokémon despite that I oddly really got into Pokémon at that time
2003-2013: Ailure, orginated as a joke regarding Ailurophilia and me. Memory is fuzzy regarding this though, I seem to recall I had a female version (Ailura?). It's neverthless a corruption of Ailuros, which also later led to a small misunderstanding and inspired someone to draw Ailure as a red panda, which is why most later depictions of him is of a red panda (keep in mind that my current avatar is very old and is from 2008, back when I played spy in TF2 a lot).

Well it gives you something to pass the time with when you are waiting on the bus and such. Sadly while I can surf and chat with my phone, it's... very painful. It's a non-smart phone so typing with it is a pain.

I thought the 3DS handled the forums fine when i last used it, but admittly it probably depends a lot on the forum layout used currently.

I browse with my 3DS when I'm lying down in the bed and is too lazy to look up something at my computer. I nearly only use it to check my e-mail with it though.
