Own any cassette tapes? :D
not anymore, unfortunately. my parents threw out any VHS's a long time ago, if those count. the only musical cassette they had lying around was for some reason Julian Lennon's Valotte (i've never heard it). but i don't have any myself

dyou think your Stocking moodies will make a comeback?
they could... we'll see. i'd like to bring them back in some form (probably with some new moods included) but i'd also like the ability to possibly include other characters, as much as i love the consistency of just having Stocking...

10 years ago, I was 18 and:

- had an unrequited crush on a boy (who really wasn't very nice to me, in retrospect)

- struggling with feeling pressured to go to college to become a doctor or some shit i didn't want to do for a living because i had a "brilliant brain" and shouldn't "waste it"

- hilariously browsing online trans resources while insisting to everyone, including the one trans woman i talked to at the time, that i was not trans

- feeling horrible about wanting to be a girl because what would my family think??? would they all hate me. would everyone think i was weird or fake trans or whatever

- insisting that even though i felt uncomfortable with my assigned gender at birth i didn't actually experience "proper gender dysphoria" (i was like one of the only people i knew who even knew the phrase "gender dysphoria")

- was pretty depressed over my life circumstances (i.e. being closeted trans and having no life direction, having severe social anxiety) and was constantly cynical and openly bitter and pessimistic about everything. i think that's a common thing for people at that age, cuz it's kind of an age you're starting to learn about the real world and your expectations are shattered, so it's normal to knee jerk react and say everything is fucked and bad

- was also really obsessed with music and old OSes and trying them out in VMs... uh... i guess some stuff doesn't really change much

i'm out now and transitioning and on HRT and have a girlfriend. life's a lot better. i'm still pretty aimless though

Is a Sega Saturn worth buying?
i can't answer that objectively

there aren't many sega saturn games i'm all that interested in and it's apparently pretty expensive so for me, probably not

do you personally know anyone for whom homeschooling actually succeeded?
(nb. i'm sorry for sounding so bitter in this response. i was homeschooled myself and it kind of devastated me growing up... i'm still recovering and i don't think i ever will fully recover and i think my life is going to be... defined by it forever. it's depressing to me and i hate the idea of whatever this is happening to someone else. hence the vitriol below.)

short answer, no.

long answer, not really. the sad truth is that everyone i've known who was homeschooled was educated in a really haphazard way and hasn't had amazing life prospects. like, unless you do tutoring or something, you're either going to end up indoctrinating and essentially brainwashing your kids (which is the intent a lot of the time anyway) or you're just going to end up not teaching them anything. because if your parents are your only teacher how the fuck's that gonna work out. parents aren't experts on literally everything, they just can't be by nature. teaching itself is a profession that requires a lot of attention to detail and ability to communicate with someone. it's not something anyone can just do. to assume otherwise is fucking hubris

there's always going to be something missing socially, and not just in a "haha they're not going to be able to act normal socially and assimilate" way -- i mean the lost chance to make friends and connections and build experiences you can remember 20 years on with people that you aren't related to. kids should be fucking around and getting into trouble with other kids, you know? it's how you grow up. it's how kids learn that they're a person who matters and who doesn't have to exist in relation to a specific other.

imo if you homeschool your kids you're robbing your kids of a normal life to feed your own ego, or to indoctrinate them, or so you'll have some eccentric genius child you can parade around as a trophy, whatever. it's fucking horrible. n parenting.

what do you do with your spare time?
not a lot lately. music, playing, making, listening, whatever. sometimes i play video games. i've been sick so the past few days it's been nothing at all

I'm using Daily Cycle 2.0 now

Something about the Daily Cycle themes, as plain as they are, are actually kinda cozy. And I like that Acmlmboard 2 aesthetic. Yum.
