Sorry for making a new account. I decided that the expletive username I used wasn't appropriate, so decided to make a new one with a better username. If you don't know my Kafuka username, it's IceFairyAmy, and I was previously here for a good year or so as Termingamer2-JD before losing my password, reregistering and then being banned for sockpuppeting a week later.

I personally feel like Board2 could be archived, and some sort of successor be made. I think a lot of the issues with this board in the past have been the several community splits, and the fact little was done to challenge the splits in the past as far as I'm aware (especially the Kafuka split). The board has been the same for the past 3-4 years, and it's been around for nearly eleven years now. People move on, and the fact is, the more people that leave, the more people follow. Perhaps something like a new, reconstructed staff team comprised of formerly active Board2 members who have been helpful and active in the community and are willing to make a return, and a whole new board could be created with new opportunities and will. I think it will help us get away from our past of being a board full of community splits and such.

Though I honestly see this as a slim chance of happening, it could be very beneficial to the community overall. Starting afresh, open-sourcing development of AcmlmBoard 2.1 (like Emuz has done with 2.5.x), and having new things would greatly help. It'd be much more successful, than say, migrating everything to a completely different community where there's less of a focus on ROM hacking itself (see: Kafuka). Kafuka is good and probably the spiritual successor of Board2, but I have noticed one thing and that is ROM hackers are not very prevalent there, especially in the case of the NES era. Board2 does still have that ROM hacking draw that was said before, and I think migrating to a board where ROM hacking is the main subject and we cut out most of the other sections except maybe General Chat, Gaming and Computing, formed on the original community, would help as previously stated.

I'm sorry to make my post so long-winded and possibly unreadable but yeah. I'd be willing to help out in any way possible, to be honest. Board2 has made up a lot of my 2015 and 2016 and I helped revive it for a little while in a sense back in late 2015.

~Termingamer/IceFairyAmy
