Marriage is something you should think long and hard on. Make sure the engagement is long enough to make sure you are compatible. It's one of those really big decisions that you need to try to handle objectively. :)

I've got a lot going on IRL. I am doing some research on getting a house. I found one I really like, and well the idiots left it abandoned for a year. Pipes stolen, hole in the roof with mold, etc. I know a lot of people who fix houses for a living. (They'll help me out too on any house I do get.) So I am trying to figure out if it's even worth a low bid let alone worth buying. They'll let me know as we're looking at that one again this weekend. Repo houses lol. I guess I really like this one enough to give it a second look with all the damage. :P

I'm also going to look at some other properties that should be in better shape. I won't know until Sat when I see them.

It's just a shame that they let that one house go to crap. (I wanted a fixer upper.. lol)

There's this one house just up the road that is unfinished but going for a steal. It's a massive house; 8 bedrooms, a theater room, 3-car+RV garage, all on a 1.25 acre lot. And damn, this place has a view. It's two stories with a basement. It's selling for $86k. The appraiser is floored by this price, since she says it's in amazing condition for being unfinished and untouched for the 6 months it's been sitting there. It'll take about $100k max to get it finished, and I think I could do it with my new income.

This ridiulously bad modem/router combo I got from my ISP. The only good thing about it is that it gave my threaded internet connection a small boost.

They've fiddled with the firmware and limited a lot of functions. You can't, for example, forward ports properly.

And the wireless signal is terrible. I sit roughly 6 feet away from it and the recieved signal goes up and down and even dies frequently on my DSi.

Edit: Scratch that "small" boost. It nearly doubled my download speed and made my upload speed about 4x faster. o_O

I actually carry two cell phones. One is a work phone, the other is my iPhone. I do keep the iPhone in my pocket. I put in the same places all the time and it helps from losing it.

I'm amazed at how drawn out the media attention to the horse meat being found in beef meat products is getting. There seems to not be a single day since it first emerged that hasn't had a mention of it.

Sure, it's a product supposed to be beef.. but why keep making news reports about every teensy detail of it on a daily basis?
