I was bored this evening, so I decided to sit and try to finish Mega Man 9.

I did... But not without getting nearly wiimote snappingly pissed off at a few segments. The fire laser segment in Wily Castle 1, the anti-gravity segment of Wily Castle 3, and the Bio Devil being the three most annoying parts.

Wily pissed me off a few times, too... What with his second form weakness being Concrete Shot, a weapon that is wasteful of its energy AND necessary to use in the level to avoid taking damage. I used it sparingly and even fought Galaxy Man without it, but I still had to use my M Tank to beat him.

I decided to get a few more PSP games for since my memory card still has a lot of room on it. I downloaded Lord of Arcana, Final Fantasy IV Complete, and Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core.

I started off by testing out Lord of Arcana. It is so very obviously a Square RPG in almost every sense. Item names, your "ultimate spell" is a Summon/Esper/Eidolon/GF/Whatever-the-fuck-you-want-to-call-it, and a few weapon names are all taken from Final Fantasy.

Aside from the shift into being an action RPG as opposed to a turn-based one (which is greatly appreciated), the fact that it controls using the PSP thumb nub is kinda shitty, it's clumsy as all get out because it's so awkward to hold the damn system while using it... Not to mention that the camera is controlled by the D-pad makes minutely changing the camera while moving impossible, so you have to center the camera behind you a la Zelda with L.

Let's not forget the plague of all modern action games... Quick-time events. Let's just hope that for the sake of my faith in SquareEnix that those bastards made it a staple of the battle system that isn't just thrown in for the boss fights. Luckily for me, I'm fairly quick on the reaction, so I didn't see what happened when I fucked up on the tutorial stage's boss.

Speaking of the tutorial stage... This game decided to take the Symphony of the Night approach in that it gave you your character at pretty much the peak of his/her awesomeness factor only to say "HAHA FUCK YOU! BACK TO SQUARE ONE!" shortly after you start getting accustomed to being a juggernaut.

All in all... I think I'll enjoy this one if I can get into it, despite the hardware form factor shortcomings of the PSP.

Been playing a bit of Left 4 Dead 2 (x360) in advance of the currently-delayed Cold Stream DLC..

Waiting for a delay sucks.

I moved onto Mega Man 10.

I've only beaten three of the robot masters so far, playing as Mega Man on Normal. I don't know why everyone seems to call Commando Man the hardest boss to start on... The lower path on his stage gives you a E Tank and a spare body, which are both easily gotten despite how riskily they're placed.

As for the boss himself, his pattern is really easy to follow. You just have to be smart about how you negotiate your jumps around him and his bombs.

I actually had a significantly harder time against Blade Man, since his weakness is triggered by the Commando Bomb's blast, and not the bomb itself, which made things a bit tricky until I figured it out.

Strike Man was right in the middle ground in terms of difficulty, maybe because Triple Blade makes him pathetically easy... Hitting him from close range so that two blades hit him at once actually deals damage without flinch time, as I discovered with the last hit of the fight taking out eight HP and the remaining blade flying off into the corner.

Next is Sheep Man... Why a sheep would be weak to a baseball is beyond me... Seriously, Rebound Striker as Sheep Man's weakness makes no sense. Actually, I could say the same for Commando Bomb on Blade Man... Is Capcom trying to say that bombs are more effective than swords? Sure, that makes sense, but not in context.

Triple Blade on Strike Man makes the most sense of the ones I've done so far, since most sport balls are just leather filled with air or wads of string and rubber sewn together into leather (for his namesake's baseball). What happens when you stab them? Deflation or unraveling, respectively.

A little bit more Left 4 Dead 2. Also testing Chainsaw Vs Tank.

Results.. varied. One pretty good success though.

Currently I'm play some more FF4 and some Metroid Prime 2. Just beat Prime 3 again, except failed to find JUST ONE Energy tank, so I finished with 99%.

While I'm still COMPLETELY engrossed in brutalizing the minions of the Lord of Terror by the millions, I've got a hankering to start a fresh game of FFVII. Mainly because my old save files from the PS1 memory cards are all non-functioning. =( 999 hours of game time down the drain! Gonna take forever to get a master Knights of the Round materia for each character again.

I am not actually playing much right now... Still engrossed somewhat in Minecraft for 360. Still trying to mine out all those blocks. But I have been working most of the time and the free time I have is being spent on sleep and cleaning. Mostly sleep. But, in anticipation of the new PC I will be getting very soon, I have been taking suggestions on what to do with it, including Minecraft. Anyone?

Spent the day playing Zelda 2 for shits and giggles, as well as having had it for Virtual Console for as long as I have, and never played it.

I made it from beginning to just before the Grand Palace within a few hours, which is pretty damn good, considering how bad I am at the game. I probably would have gone as far as to beat it if the path to the Grand Palace wasn't so fucking cheap.

I shit you not, I made it to the end of the second scripted battle screen of the lava stretch on my last life, make it all the way through, prepare to negotiate the jump to advance to the cave... Only to have a Moa that wasn't fucking there! come out of nowhere and hit me into the lava I'm trying to jump. Fucking bullshit.

I've been playing some more Minecraft a bit recently to see a few of the newer things. I just wish it didn't lag out my computer as much as it does.

Oddly enough, I haven't played it before a few days ago.

I really like it so far ^_^

It's a bit like Zelda. Don't know if that's your style or not.

Hmm. If that games cheap I'll need to get it, I remember hearing it's really good.

I've finally moved onto Dead Space 2. I streamed a little today, got stuck on the Stalkers. It's fun so far though, I like the story. Never beat DS1, but oh well!

Yeah, Crystalis is pretty awesome.

Been taking a break from the Lord of Terror and decided to play a game I haven't played in 15 years: FFVII. Started from scratch since my old PS memory saves all seem to be corrupted and wouldn't load onto the PS3 (*sigh* Good-bye 8 MASTER level Knights of the Round materia... :( )

Currently about to enter Gongaga, but building some gil and getting everyone all of their limit breaks (up to level 3-2). Not missing anything, and am very much looking forward to picking up the pwnage that is Cloud's Omnislash before the end of disc 1.

EDIT: Loaded up my game and noticed I spelled "Gongaga" as "Gongonga". :p

I'm still playing (around with) Noxico, and a truckload of henshin devices, if those count as games. They're basically software versions of toys so...?
