A sense of peace overtakes Moxley as he makes his way through the city streets. The heavy magic influenced city was not unlike his own homeland.
"Say, are there any purveyors of magical artifacts here? Someone around here must have something neat!" |

Posted by Dani ★ None at all. A woodchuck on meth would suffer from hallucinations that the wood was actually a race of carnivorous alien creatures and would flee in terror, making unnatural sounds no woodchuck would ever make. Days later, the woodchuck's family would find it stuck in a tree, absolutely exhausted. The entire woodchuck community makes a pact right then and there to never touch those strange rocks ever again. |

Moxley reaches into his cloak and produces a pair of gold coins. He flips them in his hand in plain view of Slowfix, as if to get his attention.
"I like it when my friends tell me a good story." says Moxley. "If the story is the kind I want to hear, it's lots of fun for everyone. You know what I mean, friend?" |

"I see goblins aren't so different than in my world." says Moxley, tucking his currency back into his cloak and following the rest of the group. "At least this Gubal bookhouse sounds interesting. And what on Eberron is a roegadyn?" |

"True enough, Zarik." Moxley says with a big grin on his face. "Then again, all sorts of fascinating tomes must be in a place like that. And if we find Slowfix's artifact, we'll have the bargaining chip we need. Hell, we might even get ourselves into a good fight along the way!"
The is a noticeable new enthusiasm in Moxley's gait as he says that last sentence, as if he is energized by the prospect... |

A friend from college claimed to have done this before, though my friends and I are way more into character and world building than the languages themselves.
All the credit to someone who can take the time to develop one. It looks like it takes a lot of thought and effort to do well. |

Posted by Dani ★ Yes, there is. It's called the SwitchMax, and they're produced in very small quantities by a gentleman in Chicago, Illinois, out of a small game shop. He makes them as a hobby, but his prices are good, and the unit itself gets the job done. The store itself is a little tough to find, though. On the corner of 23rd and Spruce, you need to look for a brick, three story building. Proceed down the alley adjacent to the brick structure, and about three or four buildings in, you will find a heavy metal door with a spraypainted image of a hawk holding an NES controller. This is the place you are looking for. However, he only keeps a very select clientele for his wares, and so a special knock is required. At the door, you will need to knock three times, then once, then thrice more. If you knock on the door between the hours of 1-3 PM on a weekday, a moment later, a short man in an argyle sweater will answer the door, and escort you into a small waiting room. The waiting room is small, yet cozy, yet comes equipped with complementary coffee and homemade oatmeal cookies. If you complement him on the cookies, he will give you a small business card with the recipe with the sole provision that it will be for your personal use only and you do not share it. A bit odd, but the cookies are good, so it's worth it. After a while, the man will usher you into the main part of his shop where he takes his customers one by one. The "shop" is actually a combination workshop and game store. The back of the room has a massive workbench where his custom creations, like the Switchmax, are made. The far right end of the workbench contains a cash register for transactions (he doesn't take credit cards, BTW). The rest of the room is lined with shelves of all sorts of retro video games and other accessories of his own design. When your transaction is done, he will politely usher you out of the store, recommending one of several local eateries for either a late lunch or early dinner. I myself tried the hot dog cart a couple blocks down. Best kielbasa I've ever had in my life. Though if he suggests to you the maid cafe on 21st street, I wouldn't bother checking it out. They're bubble teas are awful, and I once saw one of the waitresses take money out of donation jar for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. But at least the maids are cute. And that's how you too can get your very own SwitchMax. It really is a game buying experience like no other. I would recommend it to anyone, and Live from New York, It's Saturday Night. |
