It does have a DOS appeal indeed. It's rare to have a checker theme. I do like this one for that reason (and others.)

I was around during the Star Wars namechange event. I still have the stuff from it actually..

That's pretty much how it is here. Unless someone has asked me directly and I've said yes.
There are only a few alts on the board. I had at least one on Acmlm's I1.: Amuji.

The DNS issue will be resolved soon. I am waiting on a specific individual to update it. We'll see....

Oh he's got a lot on his plate these days. (all good.) Just know Bouche is doing very well! He's moved to San Francisco and now works for IFTTT. He's really busy, so he doesn't make too many appearances. I talk to him semi-regularly when both our busy schedules line up to allow us.

The fix Epele applied to the avatar system is now live on Kafuka. Hopefully that will make it better.

I may as well break my avatar down a bit...
My current avatar is following a trend of mine I started with my old "Elkuji" avatar back in 2005. I change various things like hair color and such to a specific color set. My last avatar was Shiro added a few more additions to the formula like the Luigi hat as an homage from my first Acmlm's avatar.

The base avatar is Louise from Bob's Burgers. I've changed the bunny-ears to have the color of Luigi's hat, as well as the "L". Changed the hair to be '80s Louise. I colored it 'Emuz's Hair Green". I didn't go as far with the other ones as the eyes and eyebrows are too small to really make to much of an effect. I normally color the eyes purple, and the eyebrows to match the hair color.

With my current avatar I took the source image from the show directly. I used this to make it an animated gif. After that the background has changed a few times. The current one is a night key to complement my new layout.

Mood avatars? I got plenty. I have a few that have never been used as well. I actually add to them randomly as I go.

I don't think Nintendo will ever vanish. Remember they also make many many other things in Japan like hanafuna/poker cars, mahjong sets, and more.

They may have to move on to software only in the future, but they have at least one more fiscal year before it's a big problem. We'll see how well SSB sells... (I am getting a Wii U just for that so I bet more are the same way.)

Alright... so.. I guess this is the first time I have a total layout to show.

I based the initial concept off the one I had in I1 that Acmlm made for me.

The background layers are from SMAS, as is fitting for me..

The base background is the twinkling stars from SMB1's night stages. The forground is the castles from SMB2/USA World 7.

The side bar image is my avatar as it's been for a while now. Currently she's wearing a shirt that says "Tesla-Chu vs. Plusdison". They key of course.. now worn as a neckless.. and in her hands.. Toukijin. (If you have been around during the tRO days this will be familiar..)

There you have it.

To help try to rerail via a detour:

In order to test the per-user color feature I came up with the idea of using the 'Luigi" version of the Root Admin Male color. It's the green shade of the same color:

I've met Kharpern from the original board. I am actually due to meet ||bass sometime in the next year. Other than that I've yet to meet anyone from Acmlmboard/Kafuka.

I have met a few from tRO actually as well. Kihanna and a few people at a con who fanboy/girled over me. Eeesh..

Actually mostly the stuff in my profile now I use. AIM is my primary IM service. However I think it's idle 99% of the time. I also am connected on my multi-IM client to Y!, ICQ (thanks to retro week), xmpp.kafuka.org, and I do have FB messenger configured but I never ever ever turn it on. .

I mostly communicate on IRC and twitter these days.

Number sign is when the # is used in front of a number.

More or less this is my thoughts. I use the nomenclature of the phone when using a phone, I use # num/hash for in most places. Again context specifically.
When it comes #hashtags the only place that word I feel should be used is when talking about using them on Twitter/Instgram/Whateverthefuck/Whoodydoo~~

Okay it wasn't that. They were discussing their lunch and were going "El-Oh-El hashtag-terrible"

I do see the upside of using them in tweets & Instagram to expand the scope of your message, as well as participating in a large group conversation. (I've also been known to participate in an @atmidnight hashtag wars for the heck of it.)

It becomes an issue when it's excessive. "I went to the store. #car #food #sunnyday #PINNUMIS4535 #hashtagsrule #whoami?"

^ That's just (and exaggeration, yes but not that far off) annoying as heck.

I have "StapleButter", but that's because I thought his name was set wrong the board. heh.
