Yeah. I like more person, less 'forced' interactions. Most love letters happen during periods of long seperation and not in the courting process anyway. IE: WWII. (but in the reverse there were plenty of "Dear John/Jane" letters too.)

Alright, you remember a little holiday called Halloween, you'll remember we had a bit of a contest. Welp that's what this is.. but with candy canes and flashing lights! Also I have copy pasta'd the hell of this so it may be tweaked over time.

It's really simple to join in! Make a Holiday layout. It can be a variant of your current layout, or create a whole new one! It can be any one of the many holidays during this season, so you're not stuck with just Christmas.

When you have it ready just make sure to post in this thread "I'm Entering" and we'll take it from there.

KP and I will be checking the work to make sure you meet the stringent easy rules we have established. You will pick the top three creatively constructed layouts via board poll. Prizes will be awarded based on the results of the poll. All members who tie in any given place will all receive the prizes listed.


First place will receive a badge, 50000 Coins, and 5 Frog Coins!
Second Place will receive a much less shiny badge, 10000 Coins, and 3 Frog Coin
Third Place will receive 5000 Coins, and 1 Frog Coin.
Anyone who enters will receive a badge just for participating.

This time we are going to also have two organizers awards!
Both KP and myself will have a badge we will can give out to a layout we feel is the best, or under appreciated. We can give it out to ANY layout but our own. That also means we could choose to give it to any non-placing badge all the way to 1st place. We'll see how it works out

Feel free to have fun with this! Anything is on the table except explicit sexual, anything like real gore (If you want to do one on Al Gore I'll make an exception).

Any questions you may have you ask in the thread as well. Just remember to enter you need to have one post with "I'm Entering" to be officially counted.

Deadline is Monday December 29th at 6PM ET (IE: KCS Time). A Poll will be posted sometime after that point. Polls will close Saturday, January 3rd. at 6pm ET (KCS time). Prizes will be given out shortly afterward.

Hmm. Well I just did. I wasn't on earlier today.

You know you could easily just make one right? It's that button called "New Thread"? There is no reason for you to wait for someone else to. Just keep it to one thread per person per year. (And on the rare case we have two on the same day one per person is fine. )

SB: Well we could always move to sql date if we have the time and momentum. I don't see an issue from it other than it's time we could spend elsewhere currently.

Kak: Did you implement any of the thread merge/split tools? as well?

We could use a more robust Admin toolset on the main branch for sure lol.

I didn't use the css substitutions. I did it by hand. I'll do it css method next year. I'll fix the theme later and get the Game show group in one shot.

I have a fireplace in my living room. It's gas only fireplace. It doesn't work as the 1950's era gas burner is damaged. (Gas fireplaces were popular in 1910~1940 era Colonial style houses in this area. A popular addition over the years is the addition of an actual chimney so you can make it wood burning fireplace.)

I bet it is. I usually don't go anywhere but my family's on the holiday. I've had to work Christmas Eve which is quite boring.
