For my MacBook Air, it sleeps when I close the lid, and also lasts several days in that mode. However if it is about to die out it is smart enough to hibernate itself. I don't need to worry about losing stuff at all (and the hibernate has never corrupted on me). Best thing I like about it is the near instant connection back to the Wi-Fi network thanks to that SSID/DHCP caching thing or whatever it does.
Windows 7 has hybrid sleep, which goes into sleep mode but writes away the data needed for hibernation anyway, so if your battery fails, you can still resume.
My netbook gets back on the WiFi almost instantly too, there's probably a driver issue with your PC laptop, which can cause the corruption as well.
Driver quality is important. Apple products usually get away with it easily, because Apple decides all your internal hardware for you, and you can make no modifications.
For PC's, anyone can buy cheap, low-quality, exotic hardware from many budget brands. These often have unsigned drivers. This is where Microsoft's WHQL driver signing program comes in; one of the things it does is make sure hardware can resume from the deeper halt states.

You may recall that a singular matrix is a square matrix for which there is no multiplicative inverse. That is, there is no matrix which you may multiply the singular matrix by to achieve an identity matrix with equal dimensions.

To 'undo' matrix multiplication, you can multiply the product matrix by the inverse of one of the multiplicand matrices to get the other multiplicand matrix. If one of the matrices is singular, it can't be used for this process.

What, then, does this mean if you multiply two singular matrices together?
Ouch you make my head hurt.
This way I will never be able to start reading the book tubular recommended me.

Dumb question: Will your OOPboard stand in as a mobile version of the board when it's finished?

I ask because trying to load the board proper from my phone causes a lot of memory overflow problems.
AB2 should have a Lo-Fi mode.
Lo-Fi for threads is basically just printable view, but with CSS enabled, and an existant but reduced top menu. So printable view could be easily implemented as well.
