UPDATE: Migration complete.

Hello all,

Quick Status Report:
Migration of the avatar data is complete and all the board changes have been made final.


Right now I plan to start the final migration on Saturday 7pm EDT (1 hour after KCS Time). There is usually a lul in activity and it will give me enough time to work out any snags. However, if I get a good solid chunk of time this week I may do it sooner. If that's the case I'll update this announcement no sooner than an hour before hand. I will also announce it on IRC/Discord at the sametime. (Note: This is unlikely as this is a busy week for me.. but if I get a chance I would like to get everything finished)

The final steps I need to take involve moving the domain to the new IP, getting a cert issued for https, and migrating the database. Since we're dealing with DNS changes some may not get the update at the same time. Hopefully the DNS gods will smile on us and update properly. (I did have an issue earlier that it didn't propagate due to a registrar issue that was out of my control.. hopefully it doesn't pop it's ugly head back up.)

SSL cert hopefully won't take long after that. Once I have that it's all on me... DB migration will be pretty quick as well.

I would recommend if you don't either joining our discord or irc to keep up to date. During the down time it will be the best way to find out status and keep in contact with everyone.

We'll start fresh

Since we had a bit of a mess I decided to start fresh. Any suggestions for features and such for 2.5.4+ please submit them here for discussion!

Notes:
Suggestion doesn't mean implementation.
As of writing this e-mail I'm more focused on housekeeping so even if a feature may be considered it may not be implemented for a while.
As project manager I'll (unfortunately) have final go ahead on anything.

Pull requests are open of course.. but unless you've spoken to me first I will reject them more than likely. If it's a security patch those will be verified and accepted differently.
I've been burned a lot so I'm going to be super careful.

how about a Posts per page option solely for user posts page, as a link on the right, and then embedded into the page url?

I guess I don't understand.. You may need to go into a little greater detail.. but what I think you asked was to have as adjustable posts per page when viewing all of the user's posts?

Did you mean the postsbyuser.php? page.. or (more likely?) Show posts?

Well you can manually adjust the show post by adding: &ppp=#

Example: https://board.kafuka.org/thread.php?user=1&ppp=2

Is that what you meant?

Yeah.. we have like 5 of them. I just started a new one.. It's fine. Gives me a chance to start a fresh one.. Let's continue this over there as to not clutter up this thread

Ahh okay. I'll keep the suggestion in mind. It depends a lot on if others would find it useful. The big advantage is nothing is in that part of the page. (One of my things is being particular about cosmetic changes.. since I'd rather keep that frozen until the backend is a bit nicer)
