I picked up Tomodachi Life the other day when my buddy and I went to Williston after work.
I have been playing the SHIT out of it. It's so much fun for a completely retarded reason. The reason I picked it up is because I was watching Captain Southbird's highlights of Vinny of Vinesauce's streams of it, and I found it hilarious, I couldn't resist picking it up. |

I didn't announce this stream, but I started Randlocke Black the other night and forgot to report it until now.
Got off to a rocky start, and ended up giving myself some more mercy rules because the game decided to utterly fuck me over left and right. The team (in order of meeting, natch): Juggernaut, level 20. Met as my starter (Beldum) at level 5. Ability: Hustle Nature: Serious Moves: Focus Punch, Judgment, Secret Power, Gear Grind Item: Insect Plate Cleopatra, level 21. Given as a gift from the kid in the Dream Yard at level 10. Ability: Pickup Nature: Lonely Moves: Extrasensory, Brave Bird, Spore, Simple Beam Cactus, level 20. Met in the Dream Yard at level 8. Ability: Sturdy Nature: Quirky Moves: Sacred Fire, Cross Chop, Confusion, Twineedle Spurderman, level 20. Met on Rt 3 at level 10. Ability: Clear Body Nature: Careful Moves: Body Slam, Ominous Wind, Sludge Wave, Stomp Jotaro, level 25. Revived from a Helix Fossil I found. Met at level 25. Ability: Static Nature: Jolly Moves: Gear Grind, Rock Tomb, Solar Beam, Peck Lou Gehrig, level 20. Met outside of Pinwheel Forest at level 15. Ability: Rock Head Nature: Careful Moves: Thunder Punch, Payback, Vacuum Wave, Wing Attack Progress: Just beat Nacrene Gym, ready to face off with Plasma in Pinwheel Forest proper. Reserves: Jello, the lkevel 10 Duosion, met in Wellspring Cave. ShitIdunno, the level 25 Paras, revived from a Skull Fossil. Revivals (Lazarus Rule): -Juggernaut outside of Pinwheel Forest, one-hit killed by Numel's Eruption. Level 12 at the time.* -Kitsune, the Zorua, outside of Pinwheel Forest, one-hit killed by Numel's Eruption. Level 13.* -Cleopatra outside of Pinwheel Forest, ate a critical Drill Run from a Scyther. Level 16 at the time. Used the Revive I found on Rt 3. Casualties: -The Unnamed Clefairy on Rt 1. It just couldn't withstand Juggernaut's attempt to weaken it and succumbed to his mighty Tackle. Level 4. -Kitsune the Zorua, met on Rt 2. Decimated by a wild Marowak's Thunder Punch on the outskirts of Pinwheel Forest. Poor bastard never had a chance. Levels 5-13.** * Given a Lazarus revival due to having been killed by the nurse that heals your team. Due to the bullshit nature of those deaths, a caveat was given to the Lazarus rule where: if a Pokemon dies for the time in a battle that ends in being healed immediately thereafter, it counts as their single revival. Only counts if they haven't already been revived or if they weren't dead before the battle began. ** Very glad I didn't have to spend my Revive to get him back. Mercy Rules: -Status Break Clause: If a Pokemon dies before having gained five levels, it can be revived with no penalty. -Lazarus Clause: If a Pokemon dies, I am allowed to resurrect it if I have a revival item in my inventory, or if it dies in a battle that is immediately followed by a party heal. One or the other, not both, ONLY ONCE PER PARTY MEMBER! |

I just finished Majora's Mask 3D. 100%, natch.
I like how they changed things up for the sake of keeping things fresh. The saving took and instruments took some getting used to. But I'm ALMOST to the point where I can play the Song of Time and Elegy of Emptiness as fast as I could on N64. Things I Rreally didn't care for in the slightest: Gyorg and Twinmold boss fights were a pain in the dick. Twinold moreso than Gyorg, but I still hate Gyorg. It took my an overall of eighteen in game hours to beat Twinmold due to having been killed because the red prick likes to ram you for a FULL HEART OF DAMAGE (after damage reduction) over, and over, and over, and OVER, AND OVER! You can't fight the faggot off until you kill the blue one, WHICH IS WHY I WAS GETTING MY ASS HANDED TO ME. It eventually gives you the Giant's Mask, but it's a pain because of how slow Link moves and the shitty wrestling mechanics. I could go on and on... I also didn't like the change to Gyorg's room on the moon. I get that they needed to add a challenge to getting the Fierce Deity Mask instead of making it a prize for simply getting all twenty masks. The thing that sucks is that with the new swimming mechanics, it makes fast swimming harder... Plus you're given a pretty strict time limit... And you need to fucking breach the water in the right spot without skipping a beat. It's 10:30 AM, I have work in a few hours, and I can't be asked to give every since bit of my thoughts. All in all, very positive experience. It would have been perfect remake in eyes if they had toned down their remiuxing the bosses a bit and left the fucking swimming mechanics. Long-term swimming practically requires the infinite mana of Chateau Romani. Enough bitching about things I didn't like. Nap time. |

I'm yellow Ness Playing a completely unprompted mirror match against one of the guys in the Vinesauce Chatango. This goes exactly how you would expect. He misjudged the time on my smash charge and is sent flying. Presumably shitting teeth for a while. I just had to go back to the video file and grab the connecting shot. |

Tonight went about as well as you could expect... That includes the nigh unbearable grind to get two sub-level 20s up to being some of my strongest Pokemon.
The team: Jotaro, level 43 Moves: Fusion Bolt, Rock Tomb, Crunch, Fly Conchquest, level 43 Moves: Sludge Bomb, Water Spout, Dark Pulse, Wish Miss Piggy, level 44 Moves: Air Slash, Mist Ball, Surf, Body Slam Gummi, level 46. Ability: Regenerator Nature: Hardy Moves: Sludge Bomb, Surf, Fire Pledge, Iron Defense Slumber, level 43. Met in Mistralton Cave at level 30. Ability: Levitate Nature: Impish Moves: Iron Tail, Ice Punch, Steamroller, Shadow Punch Current progress: Opelucid City, just beat Marshal (Drayden) for the badge. New reserves: -Bud, the level 31 Roselia, met on Twist Mountain. -TurdBurglr, the level 34 Stunfisk, met on the outskirts of Dragonspiral Tower. -SliceNDice, the level 30 Pawniard. Met in the Moor of Icirrus once the seasons changed to Spring. -Derp, the level 32 Sunflora. Met in the grass of Rt 9. Casualties this session: -Ass Clown the Meganium. Killed in action trying to defend Gummi from an Ursaring's Cross Poison in the Nimbasa stadium. Levels 22-38 -The unnamed Vulpix I met while swimming in the frozen waters of Icirrus City. Fled from battle on a gust of wind that was reflected by Conquest. Level 17. -Leviathan the Milotic. Sacrificed himself for the good of the party when Kate's (Bianca) Lickilicky was throwing devastating Sludge Waves. Level 39. Revived per Lazarus using a Max Revive I found on the ground. -The unnamed Sigilyph I met inside Dragonspiral Tower. Gummi bit the poor fucker's wings off and mercilessly left it to bleed out on the ground. Level 31. |

The stream was short alright.
I wiped on Elite Four #2 Dudley (Grimsley). I found a shiny Crawdaunt on Victory Road though. -Jotaro was killed by Dudley's Eelektross's +4 Aerial Ace. Levels 25-50. -Conchquest died to a Glaceon's Volt Switch on Rt 10 but was revived by a Max Revivce given to me by Kate (Bianca) at level 43. She then died for good on Victory Road to a Huntail's Grass Knot. Levels 19-48. -Miss Piggy was killed by Dudley's Eelektross's +4 Seed Bomb. Levels 25-50. -Gummi was killed by Dudley's Eelektross's +4 Seed Bomb. Levels 15-50. -Leviathan died for good when killed by Dudley's Eelektross's +4 Seed Bomb. Levels 16-51. -Slumber was killed by Dudley's Eelektross's +4 Seed Bomb. Levels 30-50. |

Just finished Ocarina of Time 3D (Main Quest), again with 100%... I needed more help from guides to get this one... It's those fucking spiders, man.
The gameplay is very accurate to the original, unlike Majora's Mask (not saying the MM changes are bad, mind). I like the updated textures and whatnot making things more vivid. I only died once, against Bongo Bongo. It was my fault, really... I went in with six and a half out of seventeen hearts, got grappled and crushed. I prepared for the rematch by snagging a faerie out of the graveyard fountain... Never used her. I'm NOT looking forward to Master Quest. Fuck that noise. If I do get around to playing it, it'll be on stream. Which won't be for SEVERAL months, especially considering how the email I got from the modders in Japan saying that upon returning to work after Golden Week, they were still working on orders placed in MARCH! |

I know this isn't the screenshot thread, but this is related to my post.
I decided to play some Conker's Bad Fur Day since my package from Jen of Vinesauce came in the mail today. That's my current progress so far. I've done the barn level and the shit shack level so far, as well as open the next two levels. I am not having very much fun with this game. At least not "I just spent $100 on this game" levels of fun. The swimming segment after the hay robot boss and the whole bull fight (I'm calling it) boss were a ROYAL PAIN IN THE DICK! The game even went so far as to glitch out when I was riding the fucking bull to the point that all he would do is run in a circle back to where he was standing, turn around and run the circle counter wise. For a whole FIVE MINUTES before I quit back to the file select and restarted the fight. I know it wasn't my controller, because my controls were perfectly fine after restarting. I only quit from the menu, I didn't touch the hardware. As far why I'm on File 2 instead of File 1 is because Jen's save data is there and the game doesn't have a copy option to my six seconds of rummaging's knowledge. I know I won't be giving it back to her, but I have something about retaining data from previous owners when I buy secondhand. If the file can be preserved, it will be. |

Just streamed some Cold Shadow.
The SNES version went smoothly, even with me losing patience on 7-2. I made it to 5-1 on the Genesis version but got annoyed by the game and other people bothering me in the background of trying to do my commentary. I will be reattempting at a later date. |

My copy of Fantasy Life got here this afternoon. I ordered it after remembering that I was interested in it after watching/listening to Vinny's streams of the game on Youtube.
I'm about five hours in, I haven't even touched the story beyond being allowed to go into the East Castele Plains. I started as a Wizard, then went Tailor, and then Paladin. All three classes are completed up to Apprentice rank. I would go farther, but the game begins requiring venturing into West Castele Plains, which is gated off by Chapter 2 of the story. I think I'm going to continue to do the remaining jobs and get them to Apprentice before getting on with the story. That way, I have plenty of Dosh and a wide array of skills to pool from in case the game begins to get difficult. I can't decide which job to take next though. I want to do Mercenary, but Blacksmithing will help with getting good armor... However, Mining will help with ore gathering and Woodcutting will help because some smithy recipes call for wooden blocks and the such. This game is incredibly dense. It's a bit much to handle as you start, but it's fairly manageable, because you only technically need to achieve the basic rank in a job before you can do those actions as any other job... However, if you set yourself as the corresponding job for the action, you gain proficiency faster. I am enjoying this a lot if you can't tell. |

Been playing the FUCK out of Fantasy Life. I hit Apprentice in all twelve jobs and am slowly progressing through the story to open up the world a bit more for further growth in my jobs. I may have to do several story progressions to move up in most jobs due to the requirement of things in the second city.
I can easily bump to Adept in jobs like Blacksmith due to Apprentice requiring iron, and having it easily accessible in the ore shop. It won't be so easy for, say, Angler since I need to go fishing in the water around Port Puerto. I'm about eighteen hours in and still loving it. Posted by KP9000It does look pretty good. I'm a little strapped for cash at the moment, but I'll put it on the list of must-get games. |

I'm sixty hours into Fantasy Life now. I'm Expert rank in all Lives except Paladin, which is one fairly difficult challenge away from being Legend-in-Training (two ranks above Master). Paladin became my go-to Life because I found longswords to be more efficient, plus the Paladin's limit break was the best for the effort it took to charge.
Looking back at my speculation on Angler: I was wrong. The NPCs were talking up Port Puerto as my next area, when in reality, that area was the basis of the Adept challenges... Apprentice was in the West Grassy Plains, which was available at the time. In terms of story, the base game is finished. I just popped level 50 and started the Origin Island arc for the expansion. I'm going to put off maxing out the other Lives until I get the Demonic Mirror from the Celestial Coin quests for the simple fact of it giving me a free stat reallocation at any time of the day (as opposed to the tome in Al Majiik's library that only works at night with a thirty thousand dosh PER USE tax). I realized around level 35 that I was doing my stats out wrong because my mining and woodcutting was starting to slow down and infamous nodes/trees became a tiring chore to complete (if I could damage them at all). My new stat spread plan is to do a 2:1:1 ratio on my primary stat, secondary stat, and Luck (respectively) for the Life I'm working on to maximize my efficiency. I still have a minimum of forty hours to go and 150 levels to gain. If only because I want to aim for 100% completion. Also, this game deserves my attention. ~$55 ($40 for the base game, $8 for the expansion, and whatever tax and shipping came to) well spent. |
