Alright, got some new cabling to go along with the new machine.
Click for Pic Got a parallel/serial PCI Express card in there because I have a SNES controller that hooks into a parallel port. I also have a touch screen monitor that interfaces with DVI and Serial connections. So that and the serial cable will come in handy. I'm getting new power cables for the monitors, as well as new HDMI and DVI cabling for them. The DVI cable on there is an extension cable because I already have a shorter DVI cable, but I need it longer, obviously. Also got some cable management stuff, and a 75ft ethernet cable. I also grabbed a simple mono RCA to 3.5mm adapter for connecting MP3 players to my workplace's speaker system. |

Bought $85 in cabling and accessories today to better equip my PC when it arrives. I figure why not hook up a new machine with new cables? On top of that, shopping around a little bit has allowed me to incorporate a third (touch screen) monitor to my setup! Tomorrow, I'm going to get some additional brackets for mounting my displays. It's a redneck solution but it's totally functional and cheap, so I'll get some pictures of it when I get them installed. |

I have already ordered all the parts. In fact, I have half of my parts already.
When it comes down to it, I would prefer to have the more powerful CPU and less powerful video cards, since I will be more likely to replace the latter sooner rather than later. As for PSU, I am aware that I will need something better somewhere down the line. I will cross that bridge when I need to upgrade the video cards. In any case, the machine I have now is from 2004 and as I've said before, the CPU is so degraded it barely plays YouTube vids properly anymore. So I M happy with whatever results come out of this setup. |

Posted by Treliorwhat the fuck So I did... Let me fix that... The high for today is about 77F. It's cloudy, with a slight chance of rain. I hope it does because I LOVE rain. Tomorrow is my day off this week and I hope it's a cloudy one too because it's NICE outside today. |

I know I asked this in IRC but I am going to ask again since you gave such a great answer.
Where'd you come from anyway? More specifically, what led you here to Kafuka? |

Bananas aren't purple because then people would eat more of them. Balance must be had or else chaos would abound. |

It just made sense to go with a better CPU since sometimes you have to upgrade the mobo alongside it. And even the RAM sometimes. Video cards? Shit, you could wait a few months and the one that was $600 comes down to like $200, and you could just get two of them. PSU's aren't that hard to upgrade either. All I'm saying is if there's a bottleneck, it'll be easier to fix it going this route. On top of that, I only had a certain amount of money, so I did what seemed to be the most logical thing to do. |

You should go to Zion National Park and reconnect with your other physical aspects. Working your mind so much tends to have its negative effects. A good hike with some great scenery tends to be good for you and you get a different perspective on things. |

That's it, 58 songs? Remember, everyone can nominate up to 6 songs. What's our goal? Should we allow more songs per person to be nominated? |

Alright, I got all my cabling and routed it where I want it. I put it all in 1" plastic tubing. All I have to do now is mount it to the ceiling of my bed frame so it looks a bit better. There are two tubes; one for the power cables for the monitors, and the other for video cables. Two HDMI cables, a DVI cable, and a serial cable for the touch monitor.
After I get home from work I'll have the rest of my supplies and I'll be able to start building my machine! |

Seems we needed a new forum for Forum Games. So now all of those threads will go in there. Dunno how we missed having that forum before.
Anyway, go have fun! |

Got the machine built; had to get another means of storage (180GB Intel 520 SSD) because the 500GB HDD I have had a partition error. Windows install went haywire and had to hard boot it. So now, the drive is stuck in "expecting operation" mode and will not respond. Oh well. |
