There is only one "edit forums" permissions which allows a user to edit all categories and forums. I recently made the permissions for titles, displaynames, custom username colors, and extended profile fields like the the permissions for editing users and editing mood avatars such as the "update own profile", "update user profile", and "update profiles" permissions.
The problem with this, though, is that it become very complex and ends up taking more RAM due to query counts. Before flexible permission where setup, the ismod() function provided every single moderating perm.
