My family's cats are all indoor cats (they live on a busy street and learned that lesson painfully), so I forget most people can give their cats room to roam.

You know, I live beside the main street in town here, and I don't want him loose either. So I just tie him instead. Still outside, long leash gives room to roam a little, but I can still keep an eye on him.

I'm sorry to hear that- losing a pet is hard, my first cat died that way before he was even a year old.

Oh isn't it ever. I still can't believe that was 2 years ago. I was getting on the bus to go to school, and the night before, I hadn't seen my kitty or anything. Wouldn't you know it, that was him. Lying on the side of the road, didn't move or anything. I didn't even get to bury him properly, or even say good bye. When I got home, he was gone. I cried lots, at least for months. I've have my kitty here now since he was 7 weeks though... just a baby... now he's 2 years old. I got him exactly 2 years and 5 days ago.

What's the hardest lost you've had?

Going to play the "this thread is in the craziness domain" card here... avoid the serious topics, at least to some degree >_>

I prefer warmer temperatures myself... and the weather here is taunting me by keeping giving glimpses of heat and then snatching them away.

Only downside of warm weather for me is that it makes it a lot harder to sleep, since I *need* to be under covers for that...

I never understood this weird obsession certain people have of demanding services that they don't personally use should die. Like this one time Ars Technica ran an article talking about all sorts of Google services they thought Google should pull the plug on- why should someone who doesn't work for the company care about whether the service exists if it doesn't meet their needs? Exactly. Gravity is proven, however defile is still possible. Just look at floatation devices. Or even stuff that sticks on roofs.

It seems strange to accept gravity as proven despite all sorts of holes in our knowledge, but not climatology, wouldn't you say?
