I'm pretty sure this bogus. Probably composed of parts purchased at a computer store. What's next? Nintendo Illuminati?

I wouldn't be too quick to make that judgement call yet.
The only way to find out for sure is for this guy to take it to a official nintendo/sony repair shop or sony technical support and ask them.
Have them open up the case, look at the serial numbers if any and look the stuff up online.
Just by looking at the image and seing how old it is and sness do age badly.

I think he may have a real prototype if it is legit he should be able to get it power on.
Testing Hook the game from sony and maybe one of these may prove it can load it up properly and boot the game.

You know, there doesn't have to be 8 worlds. A 4 world hack might be a better idea, especially given the frequency at which people underestimate how ambitious making a hack actually is.

I think 8 worlds should be standard for a hack.
Long as the hack doesn't have any off the wall things to pull off or what not it'll be good.
Set the project for a four to six month time line and roll it out once everyone has their hands and final say in it.
