Posted by TreliorNone, whatsoever. I'll even let you stream it when it's done but BEFORE release. I love your Let's Play format! Thanks Trel! |

Posted by TreliorHahahaha. This made my day. Actually, I have a selfie stick. I don't use it much, and only strictly for my GoPro. I don't think there were many situations where I've used it that I couldn't use a tripod instead, but it's less of a hassle to carry around with me. I usually prop it up against something and use the GoPro remote to snap the picture. I've also been known to hold the stick way up in the air to get a higher point of view for my camera. I am not the annoying type with these things. I know when I might be encroaching on someone else's "bubble". I also don't feel the need to take random pictures with my stupid ass duckface friends. It's not selfie sticks that are annoying, it's how they're used. Most of the time. |

You know, there doesn't have to be 8 worlds. A 4 world hack might be a better idea, especially given the frequency at which people underestimate how ambitious making a hack actually is. |

Posted by MIGHTY-BLACKDRAGON- Posted by Squiddy So who likes gelato? And Trel, do you have Nintendon't installed on your Wii U? I can't wait to complete my hack so you can suffer the wiles of a communist Mario. (Not htat you need Nintendon't to do that. Just wondering.) |

I was referring to the author of the former post I quoted being removed, and then your post being the attitude or state of mind as the result of his removal. Glorious!
Also, there's this gelato store in downtown SLC that has bleu cheese and pear flavor. It's amazingly good! And I just wanted to suggest playing my hack in an emulator on Nintendon't. |

Posted by TreliorStill though, as hard as it is to take this kind of news, they're actually pretty fortunate to have been doing their charity stream. I mean, the support that will roll in because of this will be massive. Also, they say the bile duct growth killed him, but really it was the Metroid fans. |

So I was able to write new code to handle having a separate set of animated graphics pages for each world. Each world now has its own isolated set of graphics that animate. Each world map has a set of animated graphics (4 frames) and a set of non-animated graphics. I suppose I could also set it up so each world has its own non-animated page as well, but I think what I've done will suffice. I don't claim to be good at ASM; in fact, it's probably very clunky and can probably be done way easier and more efficient than I have here:
But in any event, it works. This will give me quite a bit more room to play with when redesigning these worlds. I could have given the non-animated page of the world maps the same treatment, but I think I'll hold off for now since I can do what I want with this code only. This new feature presents a small issue though-- none of the editors support the new code. They'll just look at the old places for where they expect the graphics to be. Which means every time I want to see what I'm doing in these editors, I have to take the graphics from the new location and paste them into the old location, and then back to the new location again to see it in-game. Not a HUGE deal, but, again, it'll work. |

Project M, huh? That's awesome. What bits and pieces were you involved in making? My friend and I use that from time to time.

Queen Lesbian is cute. Unfortunately that's one less cutie on the market for us men, but one more for the ladies. I'm jealous. |

I took this a while back on a shitty 10yo LCD monitor. I don't remember my score, but I know I didn't do well. Now, with a proper monitor, I was able to score a 0 on this test. Perfect! |

After receiving the highest of praise from my client, my boss has decided to move me from my current contract worker status to actually being hired on by Xerox themselves. The paperwork has been started. Patience and hard work does pay off, even if your employer doesn't have the best of track records regarding how they treat their employees.
Under my management, things have run better than they've ever run, and I'm smashing records left and right. What does this mean for me? Well, for one, paid time off. No more jumping through hoops and saving for months on end hoping something doesn't clean out my savings in order to take time off to visit my parents. Second, benefits. Not the best, but benefits nonetheless. Fucking Obamacare might actually be better than what they've got, which leads me into the next reason: Raise. I'm making nowhere near the national average for my position. I'll actually be able to afford the health insurance costs that would come out of my check. If I get my way, I'll be able to get between $4 to $6 an hour more than my current pay. So things are going alright. This comes in light of my string of unfortunate events I've had recently. I took some time off on the weekend of the 4th to go visit my family in Arizona, and I picked up an ear infection in their pool that required special treatment. It cleaned out my savings. Due to that, I had to make things work-- but I didn't have enough to cover three small transactions in my account, which the bank nailed me to the wall for. It was a $105 mistake. "Oh, I'm sorry, you didn't have enough money, so I'm going to take more money as punishment." Fuck them. If I didn't have to worry about the fucking unpaid holiday and having to pay the doctor's office and pharmacy out-of-pocket, I wouldn't have had to get raped in the rectum by my bank. All of these problems would have been fixed had I been a non-contract worker with these benefits I laid out earlier. But better late than never, I guess. :/ |

I've updated the first post with the 7/14 update. I'm going to refine the code that I've made in my previous post, thanks to some help from Disch in #rom-hacking on EsperNet. I'm actually starting to understand this shit.
Further plans include to fix more bugs, wipe worlds 6-8 clean so as not to get distracted by their layouts while still being able to complete them. That way I can continue on with world 6 without its old-style layout influencing my design. I think that World 6 will still be an ice world, since most of its levels have the slippery mechanic and it seems to fit best with the Russia theme. I also need to fix the issues with World 8. It's currently not completable due to sloppy efforts to wipe the map clean. Man, making new graphics is... hard. |

Going for the home-y feel. I think I like this layout since things on the table may change from time to time. |

Seeing as that's just a note change, I think I might be able to help you with that, actually. It doesn't take much beyond using the Code/Data logger in FCEUX to track down the notes. From there it's just figuring out what notes are what.
Good work on getting approval to do this! Good to see another SMB3 hack in the neighborhood. |

I know how you feel. I'm a huge consumer of online media and spend a lot of my time on the net. Sometimes I feel like there's just so much I'm ignoring offline, which isn't really fair to me nor those with whom I could be socializing with. Dating is a desire, but the net just distracts me away from any real action. So I hear you.
I'm a builder as well. I found out recently that I'm great at woodworking. That is an absolutely awesome skill to have, now that I'm learning more about it. Perhaps give that a go. Of course, it requires tools, workspace, and lots of money, but once you get started and sell your goods, you can make that back pretty quickly. Perhaps get outside and go for walks every now and then. You might develop a healthy exercise habit and even decide to run. There are plenty of apps you can get on your phone that will track distances, goals, trends, and other health data. Just throw on some tunes and walk a few miles per day. It's nice to just be out and about by yourself. And, as I mentioned before, dating can be another thing. You don't have to date prospectively, just socialize. But if you want to, and really desire a companion, that's a great way to break out of your comfort zone. Even being in situations where you land a date with someone can be fun as well. Shoot some pool. Play some putt-putt. If you aren't good at socializing, don't let that stop you since that's likely going to be a good source of practice to become better at that anyway. Dating is funny though, depending on your attitude about it. You'll get rejected, you might not get second dates, and you might not feel significantly valuable to a prospective partner. Just remember, though, that finding someone to be with takes a bit of perseverance. This is the kind of stuff I've been thinking about lately. Because I feel like I should be out doing things rather than sit at my computer all day. It's rough, and I'm kinda glad you brought this thread up. It makes me think about actually doing the things I mentioned in my thread a bit more. |
