The title is a reference to FCEU, whose menu is rather... primitive. I had to ask around on IRC to find out the (undocumented) button combination for switching the disk side. A pain.

I remember having that issue as well...

The NES Powerpak, on the other hand, somehow seems to automatically handle disk swapping.
