The sky got dark earlier this afternoon, and I heard some thunder. I don't think we got anything more than a short spritzing because I didn't notice any rain, but the ground was visibly damp.
I wish we would just get the rain we need and be done with it. |

I finally got my new PSP running custom firmware, and I decided to test out the video out since I kinda need it for something I'm planning for my let's play of Final Fantasy II. I found that directly using standard definition video out works fine from the main menu and in PSOne Classics downloaded from the Playstation Network, yet playing a PSP game (both from a UMD or an iso thereof) you need to be using HD output.
My question is quite simply this: Why? It doesn't make any fucking sense to require that since the system's screen is a mere 480x272. Hardly high definition by a long shot. Let's not forget that you can play the aforementioned PSOne Classics in full screen on the PSP though the video out without the fucking thing crying about it. I don't think it's very fair that they released a component cable that isn't even fucking compatible with booting games, let alone getting gameplay. I then went to do a little bit of research into a homebrew solution. I found a plugin called FuSa that supposedly bypasses the HD requirement by overriding the output by a sort of emulation. That's all well and good in theory, until I had to try three different versions of the plugin on five or six different firmwares and ultimately coming up with nothing. I'm pretty pissed off, and I think it's pretty well justified. |

A cool pic of a closeup on Professor Oak's face from a comic I found Googling for an image to use for future posts about Pokemon. |

Does Monopoly money count toward riches?
Oh damn, I don't have any Monopoly money, anyway. Never mind. :/ |

Is it bad that I just now caught the reference to Zero Wing in your title because speed reading it so many times, my brain corrected the bad grammar? |

Posted by KP9000Unless you go Nether diving (I don't know if the Nether is even in the XBLA version yet) you will never, I repeat never procure enough obsidian to make something that large. Assuming the game is handled similarly to the vastly superior PC version, the world is 128 blocks from the lowest layer of bedrock to the world's sky barrier. So, assuming your non-square shape filled in corners as it turned, and that was the only use of obsidian in the whole structure, it would be anywhere from 30000 to 33000 blocks of obsidian. Even more if you're making your floors and stairs out of it. Given that it takes fifteen seconds to mine a single block with a diamond pickaxe, which is the only way to get the resource block by the way, it would take an excess of five full days real time to mine it, let alone find the lava to make it. This is also assuming you don't misplace any blocks and have to remine them out. Long story short... You're setting youself up for major disappointment. |
