I decided to start up Mad World since I bought it and ripped it to my Wii's hard drive, but never played it. I fucked around for the better part of an hour. I beat the first boss without much trouble, but I did manage to get killed by the train nearing the end of the level because I wasn't paying attention. Luckily, respawning doesn't do much more than a slap on the wrist.
Getting bored of that, I moved back to Paper Mario. I didn't realize how much time I sank into that game for how little I have completed. When I started, I was at about eight and a half hours in, and only up to getting into the haunted forest. Not wanting to waste a lot of time in the maze, because the way it's presented is disorienting, I used an online map... Unfortunately, the complexity of the maze seemed to be a bit of a gameplay lengthener seeing as the Boo Mansion was straightforward and incredibly short. In my infinite stupidity, I left the forest after Bow joined me, thinking I had to go back to Toad Town to get to the next area... Only to discover that I had to go through the mansion's other exit. Instead of worrying about going through the maze again, I fucked around doing Parakarry's retarded mail side quest until I ran out of NPCs I could deliver to. All the while, searching the Toad Town Tunnels for the warp pipe to activate that lead back to the mansion, having found it and delivering the letter to the Boo in the course of that infernal quest, I decided to take a break... Checking my message board for my play time breakdown, I found I had been fucking around for two hours. I didn't realize how time-suckingly immersive that game is for me. |

Since I bought SpaceChem yesterday (oh god it's 2 AM go to sleep already) I decided to give it more of a whirl.
I'm going to have to say that monkeying around with atoms is not as easy as it looks. Or sounds. I have no idea how to complete Moustachium 608. |

I just wrapped up chapter 3 of Paper Mario. I gotta say, the boss fight against Tubba Blubba was waaaaay too easy. They more or less said "Abuse Bow's ability!" the entire fucking time, and having the Quick Change badge made things all the more hilarious, since I never lost any turns for my ally. |

I'm up to chapter six of Paper Mario now. Chapters four and five were kinda pathetic, to the point I kinda went crash mode against Fire Piranha. I went into the fight with three Life Mushrooms, came out with none.
Judging from the lack of difficulty I'm having, either this is meant to be baby's first RPG, or I'm just good at the timed attacks to the point I can Multistomp a twenty hit combo. |

Multibounce is piss easy, but there IS a cap to its attack and I think it's around 18 jumps.
It DOES ruin the difficulty, though, especially if you have a bunch of power-increasing abilities. Seriously: if your first jump starts out at 9, you're dealing 45 damage (over one third of the HP most bosses have) if you can (easily) pull a nine-chain Multibounce. |

I'm level 16 right now, and my stats are: 30HP, 25FP, and 24BP. I think I'm raising my stats right, since I rarely have any trouble. When I do start having issues, I usually take a turn or two to recover using Refresh or (more recently unlocked) Smooch. I would post my badge setup, but I constantly switch them as I fuck around. My goto set has the Close Call, Quake Hammer, Damage Dodge, Power Up, and Spike Shield.
I still can't beat the Dojo Master in his psycho form that you face after you get the third-degree certificate. Is it even worth doing? |

I found Paper Mario somewhat difficult at times.. but I was fairly awful at timing a lot of things.
Playing a rotation of The Sims 3, Left 4 Dead 2 and Skyward Sword myself. The world could always use more heroes! |

I decided to give Mario Party 9 a whirl this morning. Solo mode, 1v1 against Shy Guy for Toad Road.
"No contest" doesn't even begin to describe the thrashing I put on his poorly coded AI. The ending score was 101 to 56. |

Posted by GywallI played on whatever difficulty the game decided to give me, since it didn't let me choose. I have a feeling it was Easy, which is a bit insulting.Posted by TreliorJust how hard did you have the AI set to? The higher levels tended to put up a fairly tough fight at times. |

I still haven't finished Final Fantasy yet, I'm having a hard time deciding if fighting Chronodia is worth it. My perfectionist side wants to finish the bestiary, but that entails fighting the bitch eight times at different power levels... Which will require a significant grind to fight even the weakest form.
Speaking of Chronodia's forms... In other games that you're given challenges to determine a boss's difficulty, isn't the reward for doing well in the challenges an easier fight? Not this time! The more blue seals you get for completing the challenges within the time limit given by skills sacrificed, the more fiends that are stuck to her and thus the more powerful she is. I purposely ran headlong into the trials and got all eight blue seals just to see how I'd fare at level 50... I only did about 3000 damage in the four turns I lived. I don't know if my eyes fooled me or what, but I swear the opening melee attack was aimed at my Knight, and he took over TWELVE HUNDRED DAMAGE! That's three hundred more than the game even allows you to have... To my fucking house. I think I almost cried, too. |

Fallout 3 has a rather amusing combat system.
Rather amusing combat, too. Especially when a critical laser pistol turns your enemy to ash. Best twenty bucks that didn't buy Portal 2. |

I started Final Fantasy II this morning because I didn't feel like grinding for an ultimately futile boss fight in Final Fantasy I... The sad thing is, I've clocked two hours on it so far, and most of it was grind. As far as story progression goes, I'm to the point where I'm supposed to go to the waterfall cave with Mindu. (Fuck you, SquareEnix, I first played II on Origins, and that's what his name is, I refuse to call him Minwu) I've made it as far as Salamand to get a Teleport tome, which I taught to Firion and abused it to level 5, now I'm quick killing Captains in Fynn for loot and easy money. |

While I wait for a bunch of Wii games to download, I've been playing Final Fantasy II and Paper Mario.
Final Fantasy II has just been random fucking around... I dunno why, but I have more fun grinding myself stupid, testing how high I can raise my stats in a particular area, than I do actually progressing the story. I think part of it is knowing that I won't have Mindu much longer, and unlike Gordon and Leila, he won't rejoin before he blows himself up, and I need him to be at least somewhat resilient for the post-game since he'll be the party leader. As for Paper Mario, I did Chapter six and started fucking around after the chapter was over, since I can't seem to trigger Chapter seven. All I have to say is this: Side quests are too fucking arduous and stupid in this game, especially for the foggoty Koot Koopa. That motherfucker sends you on so many pointless fetch quests that aren't really worth it half the time since all he gives you is ONE COIN! Occasionally he'll give you something cool, like his Playground Pass or bundles of three Star Shards... But the good prizes are given once every too fucking far apart. |

Huh. Paper Mario. Remind me what chapter six was?
Gonna grab Borderlands. Considering spending the other $60 in my Paypal on Skyrim. Shame my mouse has gone to shit. I'm gonna have to install that wireless mouse on this laptop... |

Chapter six was Flower Fields, where you have to stop the retarded cloud Huff 'n Puff. I hated that boss fight, if only because I kept fucking up my timing on my jumps, which was only made worse by the fact that I had used Super Jump Charge and Goombario's Charge at least three times each, then getting fucked by only getting a 2-3 hit combo.
Oh man... Borderlands is expensive right now... $30 for GOTY? Fuck, I got it for less than ten a few months ago. I'm glad I bought it on sale. |
