Ah yes, the music in Black & White was quite outstanding. Although, there's a few better examples out there if you ask me. The world could always use more heroes! |

This is a good theme, very mood definitive... Especially when you go into the fight knowing fully well you're at least five levels below what you should be. All four times I fought Ghetsis, I has in the low-50s compared to his high-50s to low-60s. I felt it helped raise the tension a bit, and made me strategize a lot more. |

Posted by TreliorMy team was pretty much that level zone.. and only five members strong not counting the Zekrom caught before N. The world could always use more heroes! |

Reshiram/Zekrom hardly count toward the party since their starting move sets are both lackluster, and you're not given the chance to improve them unless you lose on purpose... Which kinda defeats the tension of the story-driven battle. |

Posted by TreliorIndeed. Made a very good "take the hits, I need to use a Revive" bait. Party consisted of Samurott, Scolipede, Stoutland, Liligant and Escaliver.. and most of them having fairly awful stats. The world could always use more heroes! |

In White I had Serperior, Stoutland, Scrafty, Vanillish, Zoroark, and Conkeldurr. I opted to send Zekrom to the PC.
In Black I had Samurott, Aggron, Charizard, Rotom (F), Tortouga, and Reshiram. I opted for using Reshiram in Black since I only had four fighters, my slots five and six were my HM slaves. I kept Tortouga since it had Sturdy and could soak for two heals. My team had nationals because I had already finished White and wanted to use classics, and the Pokedex doesn't stop you. |

Ah yes.. that change to Sturdy. Quite nice actually, I need to go consider that at some point. The world could always use more heroes! |

That change to Sturdy added new Pokemon the the FEAR roster. A level one Roggenrola could beat a level 100 that was inflicted with Leech Seed as long as the 100 didn't have serial attacks. |

Posted by TreliorThere's a variation of that one lurking around. Setup a perma-sandstorm and abuse Sturdy with a Shell Bell. Unless a Ghost, Rock, Ground or Steel type comes in.. the whole team is pretty much screwed. The world could always use more heroes! |

Uh... Bump?
The recent influx of people talking about getting the Pokemon sprites piqued my interest for talking shop for the metagame again, and @Gywall yelled at us to come back to this thread. So... Where to begin... |

I was play testing my Open Tourney party on Pokemon Online and had to laugh at one of my test subjects (I was doing random battles, so I wasn't picking the poor saps out)... He had a Dream World sun team, lead by Ninetales. The funny thing was: I used his sun against him.
I did nothing out of the ordinary from my strategy, except take advantage of the sun by using [Fire-type's name withheld until Round 1 is over] to use [stating the move will give it away] to absolutely destroy his Sun-Team-That-Was-Heavily-Weak-to-Fire. Seriously, I expected to have trouble past using Destiny Bond to kill off his Ninetales... What I wasn't expecting was Forretress into Venusaur into ragequit. |

I haven't played Pokemon in a long time. I'm so annoyed that I lost most if not all my games due to some thieves over the years. I currently only have one Pokemon game or two which are on the Game Cube. I wish I could get my other games back. Oh well. |

Oh! Another play test I just remembered! I had a really bad start on a match... Like, really bad... I was down three to six and I was about to concede, when I chatted "Hey! You're gonna beat my ass, but I'm gonna make you fight for it!" To which I completely turned it around in the endgame by sweeping half of his team on a fluke and being saved by [Fire-type].
@Scrydan: I LOVE Colosseum and Gale of Darkness. I played them back in college because my roommate had a Gamecube and he bought them for us to play through. I beat them both thoroughly within a few days. They were short, but very very good. Easily my favorite Gen III games. They were actually my first two Gamecube games I bought when I got my Wii back just before Christmas last year. I haven't played them yet, but I want to eventually do a let's play of them both... But before that I have too many other things on queue. |

I actually loved GoD and Col a lot too. Almost more than R/S/E if not more. Gen 3 is probably my favorite but sadly that is where I left off. Not sure why but I suddenly lost interest for a time and around then I got my collection broken into by some neighbors who were drug addicts to say the least. Lost all my Game Boy games and NES/SNES/Sega games. Over 100 games or so on the SNES and NES combined. One game or two from the Game Cube was missing too.
So I might see if I can't rebuy them sometime again and start playing some of the older Pokemon again and perhaps Gen 4 and Gen 5. |

Colosseum and XD are brilliant. I'd say the fact they're centred around double battles is what made them appeal so much to me.
I enjoy double battles. The world could always use more heroes! |

I enjoyed the double battles, too, it was a nice way to showcase the new format.
What I didn't particularly enjoy were the early battles on Mt Battle in Gale of Darkness (I don't like calling it XD because all I see is the retarded smiley when it's typed out :/) where it was you with two against some poor kid's single Weedle... Hardly fair having Umbreon and Teddiursa ganging up on a worm. |

Nope. Didn't find it worth the time.
The prizes weren't even that great. Sure, it was the mostly unattainable Johto starters with their elemental Hyper Beams, but the just seemed like a bit of a disappointment. |

Posted by TreliorThat was XD's Mt. Battle if I recall correctly.. Not the Orre Colosseum. Although, I did clear Mt. Battle once. I made use of it to purify Tyranitar in Colosseum. The world could always use more heroes! |
