Who said anything about Batman?

Isn't he just a psycho with a utility belt, anyway?

EDIT: Oh hey, this post's number in my personal count is this year. Isn't that neat?

Well, yes, but he might have a "bat-wood-chucker" or something in that belt.

And this post number is the year *frantically runs to Wikipedia* of the Great Kalmyk (Torghut) Migration under Ubashi Khan from the east bank of the Lower Volga River back to the homeland of Dzungaria, at this time under Qing Dynasty rule!

Amusing to say "the above" when it starts a new page :P

Does the fact you needed to use Wikipedia mean you need to brush up on your history skills? :P

Could you imagine a world without Wikipedia?

Sure... it'd be a bit more annoying, having to go back to googling everything or relying on specialist sites...

Could you also imagine a world without the Internet?

This, however, is harder- some of my earliest memories involve the internet (well, playing checkers on Prodigy), it's been there my entire life. :P

Would you be sad if I retired this thread to the Display Case after about thirty more posts?

Back then it was all about Altavista. Or maybe Yahoo Directories.

Can you believe one of my family members has one ancient Yahoo mail account? <_<

Hell, my parents still cling to AOL... (to the point of even still using "AOL Desktop")

(I still remember my old yahoo one I had like very very long ago. Probably back from the first time I messed with the internet if my mind serves me right.)

Did you have have a Yahoo account at any point or what is the first type of mail system you ever used?

Did you ever use one of those IE-based browsers when they were cool? Wait, AOL.

What was the best thing about the early Internet, in your opinion?

Well I had an AOL account that was attached to my parent's (you could have five screen names on an account or something like that)... technically it still exists in some form but I haven't checked it in like ten years.

I also had a hotmail account (this was the first email I had that was "mine"), which I eventually abandoned due to spam. :P

AOL bought Netscape and then continued to use an IE-based browser, because they were a Smart Company.

Also, the best thing about the early internet was the relative lack of spambots on message boards and such :P (even though email spam was huge)

Do you wish that there would be more of a "stricter" rule set with how browsers should behave to prevent browser website incompatibilities?
