And, uh...might I ask just what the hell sorbet is? Unless you mean the icey yogurt like mixture?

Ah. So I was right. Thank you for your appreciation in helping the lazy.

I hate Sorbet, unless It's in a rainbow fruity kind.

Why would you like to only break a hundred points? Go for the throat! Go for the top and win the game to end all games! It is all this and more for the game of I Wanna Be The Poster.

That would be a funny spinoff, a game designed for you to post but everything keeps trying to randomly ban you. The Reply Button is guarded by evil CSS Ban Buttons that fly around and try to ban you. Watch out, they come for your mouse! The end boss is obviously The Guy Gywall Poster.

So yeah, there goes random thoughts powered by my infinite creative mind. And now for the topic of Sorbet. I haven't had too many ice/alcoholic drinks.
I tend to not be a big fan so it just be another one of those things I don't drink.

I think there's some psychological effect with this. When you see 100 you think "hey, it was a good day", but at 99 you think "so few posts?" even though both are only one post apart...

Indeed. It's a known psychological trick.

That's why most prices here are like £1.99 instead of £2.00. The brain auto-targets the biggest digit. ;)

I wonder, then, why prices below 1,00 in Germany are written like "-,79 €"... <_<

Germany just seems weird with numbers. Your way of counting still trips me up, what with your counting backwards. (For non-German speakers, basically saying seventy-nine would be said nine and seventy).

Also, America does the $1.99 trick all the time here too.

the $.99 trick still works today for some people. They think they are getting a better deal/ they are willing to go a little more since they think they are still on the previous dollar. I really like nice round numbers in quarters if possible. It's just a faster math situation for everyone.

Very pastely in the KCS today. :)

.99 is more that what our dollar is worth, and i think that's quite pathetic. I mean come on, if it's called a dollar at least make it worthhe dollar they say it is.

I usually just tell people to keep the change or something if I go to high numbers like that. Change is annoying to keep track of for me, practically impossible, so I don't see any reason to get 1 cent and hold onto it.

Not to mention it is much easier to use a debit card too than to use physical change/money. No need to worry about leaving some in the wash, although I haven't had that happen much. There's a few cons to having a card too but eh. I also keep change whenever possible. You would be surprised how much you get if you just place it in some container and get back with it in a month or so. Although as I said, not as much now since I just use my debit card nowadays.

But yes, the slightly almost rounded number trick works wonders. People tend to look at the first few digits and not the rest. 1XX looks better than 2XX even though that 1XX could just be 199.

Try putting it in a jar. After a while, it adds up to something significant.

I can say there's a real annoying customer that comes by at times. He pays in 5p coins and sometimes overloads the self-service machines to the point it reports excessive change and shuts down the cash payments. >_>
