The syndromes are an old Acmlmboard tradition carried over from the first version. Syndrome are triggered when you reach the amount of posts posted per day listed in he table below.


There's something wrong in the quote above. Just thought I would point it out.

Also, heck yea my syndrome is still there! Time to break it. Or not. That spree was insane. I still have nightmares.

Yup.. syndromes are all in. Actually the funny thing is it was in the ABII code base but it was never really plugged in to work lol. Oh well we fixed that. :)

We'll fix the spelling on our next code update. It's always the little things. Please let us know if you find more, I bet there are plenty. ;)

That would be a question for @Acmlm. :) I never really was a part of the syndromes on the old I1. Reinfors was the first to spree.. so Acmlm added the first syndrome. After that point people beat it so he added +'s.

Maybe Acmlm and/or someone else remembers if there is more to it than that. ;)

Last view: 1255 days 		Well, sometimes, it's practiced in RPGs to add multiple pluses to an ability or the like. This was before they decided to just make it +1, +2, etc...

Although, you do still see it in modern games. Take, for instance, the Heart Potion from Skyward Sword. It levels with + into ++.

I remember that quite well since I participated in it. It's kinda lost to the mists of time due to the board crashing about 3-4 months later. Maybe for the best as I'm pretty sure I posted quite a few dumb posts during that night (I generally find my pre-2005 self rather embarrassing).

I was there too, spreeing the best I could on my crappy dialup connection. I think I got up to RS+++.

It was a unique time. Everything was knew. @Acmlm would see something happen on the board and make a code changes to make it fun. For example when Renifors actually got the first spree, he coded the syndromes right than and there. :)

I will never get a syndrome myself.. but if we grow more I think we'll see syndromes get hit :)
