I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to do that... I checked on editprofile.php, and my email address is properly inserted. I even went as far as to look at a few other profiles to see if anyone else was having the issue, and yup it dun be borked. |

It is due to it being directly htmlval'ed now due to some old change that somehow made its way in the update. My last changes to profile.php didn't make it so it appears a few broken things are the result. |

I could understand the alt codes, but why in the hell is there a bold tag in it? |

It was like that for awhile now but I just now noticed it using the bold tags. Probably will just remove them all together and use something better. |

ABXD has a private toggle (it heavily suggests providing a valid email address for password reset purposes) and a Javascript button for this. The field only appears, and the AJAX behind the button only works, if it's set to public in the first place.
Sounds like a plan to me. |

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that. I added a privacy option at my board to be like public/registered/staff which shows to those as shown in that list. So if we do make that option, it should be either public/registered/staff.
And if users really don't want their email known then they can set it to staff. So at least staff can contact them and such. |
