Wow, this is um, actually a very though question, I have never given it much thought really... :I
FF5 is the FF I like the most... but I'll admit pretty much all of the characters in it are kinda stale. I'd think I'd have to settle for Marche from tactics advance. I really like him and the morality choices he has to take. Then again, I am kinda tired now, so maybe I am forgetting some character I'd rather prefer. ____________________ Broken layout got nuked. :v |

FF4: Rydia, mainly because of her green hair and because I think summoners are badass 
FF6: Tossup between Terra and Celes, it's hard to decide since there's so many good characters in FF6 FF7: Tifa <3 She was always my favorite, and still is my favorite overall FF series character... FF10: Yuna... isn't she just adorable? Love the short hair too... Lulu is another one because I like goth characters  "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

FF4: Rydia, obviously, pretty much what @Danika said, and she's sexy. FF10: Yuna, I did have a fixation on her before, she's beautiful in her own ways, but that kiss...bleh. FF10-2: Payne: Badass Two-handed blade woman. yep. FFXII: Basche/Ashe/Vaan: There are a lot of reasons for these three. They are tied. I use them all, and they are all great in their own ways. 'Cept Ashe...she's dayum sexy. |

Oh man... I like too many characters in the series to pick just one.
I would have to say Firion, Mindu and Ricard... All from II. As for why I like each one... Firion is awesome because despite having lost everything he cared about to the Empire, he vowed to take the Empire on. Despite Princess Hilda not wanting him to get involved, he not only proved his worth to the rebels, he also led Maria and Gus to being the very core of the rebel forces. He also witnessed the loss of several of his friends in his travels, but instead of being distraught over their deaths, he understood what their heroic sacrifices meant, and it strengthened his resolve. Mindu is awesome because he isn't just a powerful White Wizard, but because of his role in the rebellion. He didn't just hide behind the King (and later Hilda) as an advisor, he was on the front lines, doing important work to aid Firion. He not only discovered information on the Ultima Tome, he gave his life so that the tome could be obtained. Ricard was the last Dragoon left alive when the Emperor attacked Deist. Knowing he wasn't just the last of his profession, but also of his countrymen gave him reason to fight alongside Firion. He eventually made a heroic sacrifice to allow the group to escape when the Emperor returned from hell. |

Posted by Marzen64 I am in the same boat. :> I believe he usually stood out in most FF games. And there seems to usually be a Cid in many of them. However Cid from FF7 is probably my favorite. Edit: I'll also add Auron from FFX because he is another interesting character as well. |

Something that hit me about this thread is that... while FF games have interesting stories for most part... they don't have very many interesting characters. 
I mean, I keep trying to think up characters that I like or that I think are interesting... but I just can't come up with anything.  ____________________ Broken layout got nuked. :v |

It really depends on the player. Some might relate more and some might not. Although you have to admit that some of the villains are quite crazy and mad indeed. I think that might be one of my favorite things of the series. |

FF IV: Cecil, Rydia, Yang Fang, Palom and Porom, Edge, Golbez and Kain FF VI: Terra, Locke, Sabin, Gau and of course Kefka FF VII: Zack (Cloud by default), Tifa, Barret, Marlene, Cait Sith, Red XIII, Vincent, Yuffie, Reno and Rude, and of course Sepheroth FF IX: Dagger (Garnet), Zidane Vivi, Beatrix, Steiner, Eiko and Kuja FF X: Auron, Rikku, Yuna, Lulu, Seymore FF X-2: Paine, Leblanc FF XII: Ashe, Basch, Balthier, Fran FF XIII: Vanille, Fang, Sahz I'm not a FFVII fanboy, it's just that there are so many funny one liners in that game by the people I have as favorites. If I had to pick my favorite FF as a game it'd be FF IV, and VI. |
