You think that's too old, try being someone like me who doesn't want sex at all. People think I'm some weird alien freak. Some dont' grasp that there can be anything, for anyone, that is better than sex. It just...doesn't interest me, and I find it rather gross besides

Imagine, if you will, a world where 99% of people are obsessed with rock climbing. They would spend every waking moment rock climbing if they could, and they see rock climbing as vastly superior to any other activity, real or imagined. Never mind all the effort it may take to get yourself to a mountain that offers rock climbing, or the risk of serious injury. Rock climbing is where it's at.

Also imagine that rock climbing does not interest you. Either you're not willing to take the risks, or you did it once but thought it was meh, or you just don't want to go through the effort to find a mountain and pay a fee and all that to climb rocks.

And let's say that, upon hearing of your decision, all of your friends, acquaintances, enemies, and random people on the street look at you all aghast, as if the concept of someone not liking rock climbing was alien to them. Worse, people make fun of you and think you're mentally screwed up because you don't want to rock climb like everyone else, because it just doesn't appeal to you the way it does to them.

Now, replace "rock climbing" with "sex", and you have our actual society.

It takes a lot of effort to find a sex partner, especially for the more introverted among us. Orgasms only last a few seconds at most. And there is the risk of serious medical problems in the form of STDs, as well as the risk of unwanted pregnancies in the case of straight sex. You can use protection, just like you can wear harnesses and pads when you rock climb, but they won't work 100% and they might not be around.

And I'm that chick who has no interest in the whole sex thing. And people don't accept the fact that I just don't want to have sex. They laugh, they say I must be ugly or whatever. But I just have no interest, like the person who doesn't want to climb rocks.

(Side note: I am interested in having an (also female) romantic partner, someone to share my life with and snuggle on the couch and stuff. And I can feel physically attracted to people and find them hot. But I have no interest in actual sex or in anyone's genitalia.)
