Ah, but you might think our National Health Service (or NHS for short) is great.. but it attracts a lot of stupid and time wasting. There's people who actually go in for trivial things that they could deal with themselves.

As a result, such a service is good.. if you can get past the horror of waiting times.

The flip side in the United States is people don't go in for things that could have been treated earlier, thus ended up with higher bills, and clogging up emergency rooms.

I'd be willing to wait for non-emergency visits if it means that I could afford them. How the US system works, if you're not wealthy enough, you just don't get the care you need at all.

I got my health insurance from work. Otherwise I would be unable to get a good rate and I would be uninsured. It seems I may need to use it if this illness I have is the one that going around the University..

I get my health insurance from work as well. Its not bad and I really should set myself up with a primary doctor. Currently I only use my insurance for my dentist and allergist.

My insurance isn't that bad either. It completely paid for my hospital stay when I was sick and had to stay overnight. I even got scanned and an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have anything wrong going on in my insides. I did have to pay a co-pay, but that wasn't so bad.

I dunno what to think of the Healthcare plan, honestly. I think that Insurance companies are bullshit ("You have Cancer? We can't have you on our plan anymore" "But that's the reason I've been paying you for the past twenty years!" "Have a nice day, sir!"), so in some ways I think it's a good idea if we move over to a government funded health care. That'll raise taxes yes.... but that'll also save lives.

I have healthcare, paid for by my parents. I've needed it because lots of stupid shit is wrong with my body, mostly my immune system.

But if people cannot afford health insurance, how are they suppose to afford it when taxes are raised? I don't think we'll ever find the perfect solution to this mess. Either way, something will go up in price, be it insurance, medicine or/and food.

The health care needs of the public would be payed for with tax revenue. Under such a system, government negotiators would have a lot of leverage to bargain with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and doctors for lower prices. As a result, the needed tax increase would be less than insurance premiums it replaced, except for the wealthy, who would be in a higher tax bracket. Furthermore, getting rid of most private medical insurance would greatly reduce the cost medical billing, which is notorious for requiring a lot of red tape.

I think it's interesting with the Wii U they are focusing on getting it out in both US and EU markets before Japan. Makes sense for the US as it will be out before the commer-oliday known as "Black Friday".

The biggest issue I have with Health Insurance is the "pre-existing conditions" clause. While from the perspective of the health insurance companies it makes sense, but from the applicants stand point it's turns out to be such a blanket exclusion that people that are not that bad off get excluded.

I've been spending all my free time on a single project. Until it drops I'll continue to do so. Don't worry it is for Kafuka as well as it's own thing. Just... time consuming.

Also I've been sick the last few days. I mean really bad off. On Sunday I was barely able to sit up. Oh well I do feel better, and I guess that's most important :)
