The Wii U, the first of the eighth-generation consoles, is supposed to be released on November 18, along with a variety of games, such as New Super Mario Bros. U. Here, you can discuss what you think of it and perhaps the games.

I actually pre-ordered a Wii U along with some extra stuff (a classic controller, charging cradle, and NSMBU)...which is quite unlike me. I never pre-order stuff, so that's the first time I did (along with the first time I've spent that much on video game stuff at one time). I'm glad I did, too...I checked at my local GameStop later, and they were sold out of pre-orders. Apparently my copy of New Super Mario Bros. U won't come in until the end of December, though, which is a pity...I'll have a Wii U sitting around in my house for a month and a half without being able to do much with it (although I could at least use it to play Wii games in my room during that time).

I'm thinking about a Wii U but might wait a year or so... looking forward to NSMBU

Wonder if they'll lock out third-party controllers though (I have two Mad Catz Wii remotes which are actually pretty good quality, one has even survived dropping 6 feet on a cement floor), and wonder if there'll be any good RPGs (please FF15) on there

The only things I've ever preordered were actual collector's editions of a few games. Although that is rare for me.

As for the Wii U, I may or may not decide to get it. It is either get a Wii U or a new computer. Which in all honesty the computer would help me more but I'll wait and see. I have my birthday on the 13th so maybe someone will gift me a preorder?

In either case, I am not too sure on the idea yet and will wait it out. Almost like the transition to Win7 to Win8 in a way.

I sure hope not. Then again, I honestly don't have that many third party controllers to be honest. At least none of such that work with the Wii or Wii U for that matter.

Danika, as far as I know, YES Final Fantasy 15 is coming to Wii U. And I am not missing out on that, as much as I did Final Fantasy 13. But why would they go from 13 to 15? What happened to Final Fantasy 14?

I can't tell if you're joking or not O_o. First thing: FF13 was absolutely shit and you should avoid it like it has every virus known to man. Second thing: FF14 DOES exist, it was also pretty underwhelming, and it was an MMORPG sequel to FF11, which was also an MMORPG.

NOW THEN, Wii U.

I don't think I'll get it right off, but I may ask for it for Christmas like I did with the Wii aaaallllll those years ago. Although I did that for my birthday, I don't think I'mma be getting a brand new console for my birthday at MY age. I'd be lucky if I got it at Christmas.

I'm not a huge NSMB fan (I like them but I only own the first one), so I'm waiting for more releases.
