*1 = Depends on interest. You can keep going until you even forget to eat or sleep.
*2 = Depends on interest. You can leave that task at any time but nothing you don't want to bother you doesn't distract you.
*3 = Depends on interest. You can only stay partly focused on fun activities but everything can and will distract you.

How focued are you? I am quite *1 a lot of times when it keeps to PHP, reading, writing, and such. Sometimes I can be quite distracted though, even if it is fun. So it really could also vary with me. What about you?

It is very hard for me to focus on one thing at a time. This is why a multitask...a lot.

For me, multitasking means take twice as long but I usually end up with better results on the tasks that I favor more for the most part.

I can stay mostly focused to say but for example PHP coding would be on several scripts all at once. Which is why probably AB2.6 is like a really huge HUGE change.

If I'm writing and I'm really into it, I won't stop. If not, I'll keep taking breaks, like going online, stand/walking around, stuff like that. Heck, even right now I'm watching the FSU game, listening to music, playing SWTOR and posting here.

If I put in the initial effort to focus on something (fun or not) I can usually keep my focus... otherwise I just drift all over the place. (When I view the board I'm usually in drifting mode, so I often don't have enough attention span to write out an entire post... :P)

Usually I end up focusing on something rather intensely for a few days, then forgetting about it and moving on to something else. I rarely finish projects.

It really depends on what's going on.

If you watched my Pokemon Colosseum quality test videos, you can tell how little I pay attention when playing games... A few good examples were: When my Espeon hit Somek's Claydol, I didn't see it was a critical hit until I was watching in post, syncing the audio streams; and the sound test video being a battle I started, having forgot what 'mons I had on my team. I nearly wiped on an easy battle from lack of attention.

It really depends on what the task is and how important it is for it to be done. I do multitask quite often, but if it's something like a work related task with a short deadline, it gets 1000% focus. But most of the time I just focus on getting said task done so I can spend more time doing the things I want to do.

Now FUN tasks on the other hand...I can be so involved with say playing a game, that I tend to only half or even quarter hear what my wife is trying to say when she's talking to me. >.>

If it's fun I can keep kinda focused. I'm still easily distracted by other things, and I REALLY need to try and fix this, because it makes studying literally impossible.

At least I ENJOY writing, so essays are fine usually.

I can't multitask, so I avoid it as much as possible. I can get hyper-focused on the topic at hand, but usually I spend equal time with each if I can, or I do with the more urgent things first.

In terms of visual focus, I will pick out individual pixels in a sea of everything.

In terms of mental focus... wait, what were the options again?

I don't have a full focus on everything, but I'm more likely to keep going on something fun.

Although, I do have a bad habit of doing more than one thing at a time.

For me it really just depends. I tend to strive for completion but if something of higher priority happens I will shift. (I've been known to be hyper-focused)
