Basically if there's something you might have done differently in the past or whenever, feel free to post about it here.

One thing I would do differently if I could change it is study a bit more like I "am" now. At the very least keeping on track with my reports and such.

What are some things you would do differently? The possibilities are endless!

Everything.

OK, not everything, but a hell of a lot. For starters, I wish I had gone to college for math/teaching and not programming.

There's times I'd like to do something else besides programming...and then I squeal with glee as I compose a new part of the database and expand the RPG system.
Perhaps you are not using what you learned in an area that might be fun? Eh, I can see how programming can be a bit of a pain but for me it is a love hate relationship that I possibly would trade but not.

Although one thing is for sure: I would probably take back those all nighters I did a couple of times due to my stubbornness of trying to fix a bug. Sure I fixed them all but it took a lot of my sanity. :o
Not that I'd take back the work but I'd break up the time spent to be more, urm, human?

Nah, I grew to loathe programming, especially how it changes so rapidly so I have to spend a lot more time getting knowledge of new systems and versions and such. Also, programming jobs are overworking crap, and almost all programmers are men. I don't feel comfortable in an otherwise all-male environment <_< >_>

My first change I'd make is almost literally the same as Taryn's. I went to college and jumped into computer programming even though I knew I sucked at it, I thought learning it in a class setting would help me learn it better. But I was still god awful and I started to fail all my classes about it, so I switched over to English so I could become a teacher. I should have done it earlier.

That I had never gotten rid of my retro systems and games. Still trying to recover from that. And that was back in 1997. What the hell was I thinking?

I wish I would have stayed behind and finished college as opposed to moving home with parents and quitting college.

Yeah, I had the choice too and I had been offered student accommodation. :c

Maybe taking driving lessons at an earlier age.

I don't think I'd do much differently. I know I'd do things the same anyway.

I think I would have gone to college in Boston rather than in Virginia.

I'd not have done all the mistakes in my life I did. It's too many to list, but my life is full of mistakes where I asked myself "why did I do this".

Honestly, I don't think I would change anything. The reason being that all of my mistakes and other decisions have made me the man I am today. Sure, I have regrets, but I believe that everything happens for a reason.

All I can do is change the stupid things I'm doing now and make my way toward being a better person. I can't change the past, so I've learned to deal with it.

As for things I'm doing now I would like to change... I would like to get more motivated to do things. I would like to make time to focus on reopening the story forum here, I would also like to get back to my let's plays and possibly even begin writing things like game reviews or skits and sketches.

As for professionally, I need to get out of this dead end truck stop job and into an actual professional position as a computer technician. Failing that, I could maybe even try to give video production a shot... My main concern is that videos aren't really an option right now because I don't have an audience, and amassing one isn't easy. :/
