Yeah, since today's incident I've been wondering, anyone else had any bad accidents?
As for me, today I had a really bad bike crash. It was dark, riding home from work going down this steep hill, car comes up while beaming lights straight ahead (blinding me), I lose balance and fall on my head and my bike falls on my back. Yeah, concussed pretty much and don't remember much, but it's coming back. Cuts and bruises all over, plus I have a huge swelling on the top of my head... D: |

I've never been in one personally but had many instances of friends, some family, even a few teachers, one of which was recent. Never had to experience going to a friend who experienced major ones involving extreme medical attention or death luckily.
I do get a bit paranoid and "observant" of others driving at times. |

Also not personally, but while riding with a friend.
It was quite a long time ago, almost 20 years. I was hanging with a friend while he purchased a new car, spent the day riding around visiting people. Later that night we were headed back home on one of those desolate country roads in the middle of nowhere. One of the front tire rods snapped and we went into a ditch at 55mph. Car flipped over, was dirt and crap flying everywhere. My seatbelt didn't lock up right away and instead, my face went flying forward and hit the airbag cover right as it opened. It was like being uppercutted by a pro heavy weight boxer. We managed to get out of the vehicle, and then I noticed something wasn't quite right...it wasn't raining, yet my shirt felt wet. Yeah, bloody face. Luckily, another car was coming up the road and was able to contact emergency services (remember, this was back before everyone in the world had a cellular phone). My face was cut up pretty bad, since I wore glasses back then. The lenses dug deep into my face from the impact of the airbag cover, as well as the burns from the bag itself inflating in my face. The cover broke my nose when it opened and I was bruised up pretty good from the general 'smash to the face.' I spent a night in the hospital and got cleaned up. Went home with only my shoes since everything else I was wearing was covered in blood that was dripping from my face. My buddy's safety belt worked just fine, and he came out unscathed. We both got a nice settlement from the vehicle manufacturer due to it being a brand new vehicle and something as crucial as a tire rod snapping for no good reason, as well as the faulty lock on the passenger safety belt. In the end, he got a brand new vehicle, that was paid for, and I got a nice lump of cash and had the medical bills from that incident fully paid for. ____________________ Sonnanja, ore no inochi wa toreneena! ♥2111 ✿4706 ★50 Ouch... I hope you're feeling better, Ijah...
I did total my mother's car once, but it was an extremely minor accident (slow speed leaving a parking lot) and so I didn't suffer any major injuries, it was just a cheap car that wasn't too difficult to do enough damage to "total" it. |

Posted by Nicole Proves the old stereotype of women and parking once again. I'm glad I can't speak of experience in regard to accidents. |

I've never been in anything besides a minor bump. Except for the lightning incident...
I worked at the airport as a ramp agent and the company had sent everyone home due to the rain and lightning. On my way home, I was making my left turn onto the freeway on ramp when lightning struck a utility pole that was only 10 feet away. Let me tell you that if I had to shit, I would have shat right in my pants. I lost control of my truck due to the jerk reaction and slammed into a mile marker. The damage to my truck wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but that damn lightning got the better of me. |
