Both are great tracks but..

Welp, I'm back from being super busy. And yay! This thread is alive. Let's see....

Well I always really loved the Powerful Infant theme. But I preferred that tune in Mario 64, honestly. As for Okami, I've never listened to this song before, let's see....

Wow, this is pretty good. Very nice. But listening to both of them together... They're two totally different songs, so it's hard to tell which is better. Infant is an invincibility jingle, it's really not fair to compare it to what sounds like a final boss theme. It's be like saying the drowning music in Sonic isn't as good as Live and Learn, of course it fuckin' isn't xD.

But, honestly, I enjoy Infant more despite this. I think it's nostalgia talking, but I'll vote Powerful Infant.

I feel the Okami track is a great track, but Powerful Infant gets my vote. It's a nostalgic classic, and I can not think of any better way to breathe new life to it. I love e use of the instruments, which sound amazing on the SNES.

I think at 7-2 I can safely call this one now, I doubt we'll get 6 more votes in the next few hours :P.

Results of match 7
7 - Okami - Yamata no Orochi Extermination 2
2 - Yoshi's Island - Powerful Infant

Since it'll take more than two months if I do the rest of these at an average of two days per round, I'm going to do two matches per round from now on.
[Edit: Starting... next time. I miscounted the previous matches (fixed now), and I want to keep things evenly numbered >_>.]
Also, I added three songs of my own since the list I got from @Liliana only had 61 in it. Song match-ups were randomized via http://random.org/.
[Edit 2: By the way, just because the post looks right in the preview, doesn't mean you forgot to make sure there were actually URLs in those [url] tags! ^^;;;]

...but due to it being Okami's best in my opinion, Okami - Ryoshima Coast wins hands over fist for my vote.
And perhaps I like Okami a bit too much for its music. I just love the music direction in that game!

This IS a tough choice, wow. Both are very nice and moving songs.... God damn this is hard. You know what? I'm going with Mario and Luigi. I just enjoy it more. That chorus with the piano is really epic.

Mario & Luigi 3 also. General epicness of this track blew me away the first time I heard it. Made the game, and it stands well on its own without the game's context.

(also I find it interesting that this track is one of first I tried to MSU-1, just because I didn't liked port of it on SMWC... the second one is Alexander Brandon (Siren) - Bright Club Lane that isn't video game music)

I think the host should be able to vote. I don't see any reason to bar NightKev from being able to do so given the nature of the contest due to the merit being placed on parties outside this community.
