I feel like the entertainment industry in the United States focuses too much on Music, Singing & Dancing & it pisses me off. Nowadays you have people that have no talent making it & I'm like "Really?"
The shows that are on TV that promote singing & dancing, I wish they were off the air. It's getting to the point that when they show commercials of these type of shows I mute my TV. Sorry I just hadda let this out... ____________________ Beacons.AI My Discord Server |

They also tend to focus less on shows where one doesn't make an ass out of oneself. Plus one thing I am not a fan of is the Auto-tuning (unless it's in sarcastic way and even then..) since well the high frequency distortions are just awful. Not to mention people who can actually sing are often snubbed.
There are also other formats that people don't get a lot of showing in anymore. The only show I like regarding this form of entertainment is "The Voice"... There are judges, but not really... they're "coaches" and America votes on how good the singer is and how well the coach did their job. Therefore the coaches are much more positive and not tearing anyone's assholes open. |

I know there's a lot of cases of people voting for someone who is talentless, but just looks good for the fact.. they look good.
That's what killed the majority of good talent that existed a decade or two ago. The world could always use more heroes! |

I must have slept under a rock without cable/satellite TV or I'd know this better. Of course, I really stopped about 4 or 5 years ago. Mostly Netflix/Youtube nowadays and word of mouth. |

I recall two friends discussing how auto-tuned talent ruins it for those with actual talent. The world could always use more heroes! |

The talent shows yes have become more about the judges and less about the talent itself. A lot of people watch just to see people fail too. There is a lot of that going on. I really never had any interest. The only real reality show I watch is Mythbusters.. and it's not really in the same style as performance shows.
