My apartment, all I have is a single nutcracker... but it's a tiny apartment so that's still a significant fraction of the decorations. I doubt I'll get a tree, when I plan to spend Christmas down at my family's...

My family are the type of people who very heavily decorate their house :P

Here, the living room is decorated, although there's a small window decoration in the kitchen window which is at the front.

Tree's nice, especially if the light are on.

I have a fake tree in the living room, pre-lit and decked out with various ornaments.

I had a string of lights up, but the kitties kept playing with it and knocking it down so I took them down.

My parents are huge decorators. Possibly because my dad was born on Christmas and thus sees it as a huge deal. They're also known for leaving some of the decorations up until March or so :LOL: I'm not visiting them, though. They're 2000 miles away and my dad would just yell at me anyway.

Pretty much what's going on with my house. The family has been quite lazy for the past year or so. The only ones who even bother with a little bit of decorating is my dad and I. A shame but I suppose it really is just another day. One I'd like to spend time with others.

Yeah, animals can make it difficult. My tree got knocked over once.

My parents will decorate like crazy even with cats, though. And the fuzzballs won't typically interfere.

The cats here have mixed opinions of the tree. One will happily sleep under it, the other stays away from it.

When I first put the tree up, the cats would try to chew on it and play with any of the dangly decorations. Now they usually leave the tree alone.

You procrastinate getting a tree aslmost as much as my parents do ^_~ They'll decorate the place early, starting in late November, but they often wouldn't get a tree until December 20th or so.

One of the only things I like about this time is lights and decorations. So now that I own my own house I love being able to do it. (Thought I don't do anything ridiculous..) I want maximum display time so I try to get it up as soon as time allows as I don't like having anything up past the first week of Jan at the latest.

This is why I like the fake plastic ones. You can just buy one any time you like, and then put it up year after year without having to worry about the various needles falling off - they hurt if you step on them. :(

Yep, I use the fake ones as well. Plus I can carry them home without needing a car.

My parents would get real trees, which are rather nice but a lot of work.
