I'm looking for something on par with Subnormality or Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. Nothing shitty like xkcd or MSPA, thanks.

Anyone have suggestions?

xkcd, or perhaps MS Paint Adventures, would be a good read. but you'll want to take the time to actually read into MS Paint Adventures, if you decide to try it. it's a bit... complex. Problem Sleuth was okay though.

xkcd is terrible. It's basically just math or physics reference slapped on with weak sentimentality to make lonely people feel like they belong.

As far as MSPA goes, I'm sorry, I'm not interested in reading about underage furries in sexually questionable plots.

Explosm and Achewood are good reads. Achewood is a bit more of a long-running story (loosely connected), but it starts a new "plot" every few strips or so.

It doesn't rely on excessive jokes that are based on the content within the comic itself (like shitty running gags, etc) does it to where you'd have to like super sperg about it in order to find it amusing? Cause that's the type of thing I'm looking to avoid here.

No, the only problem is you'd have to read back maybe 2-3 comics sometimes in order to understand the plot (if you want to), but the comics are usually independant from the others when it comes to jokes/whatever.

So, if you want to get the comic completely, you'd probably have to read back some. If you're just wanting to casually browse it, you can do that, but the odd chance is you'll have to read back once to get it.
