Oh, heat waves aren't fun. I'm glad my area doesn't really get them. We don't really get "cold waves" either.

Well that's hot. A town near me got that high on 10 September 2013, then got pretty close to it the next day. Meanwhile the weather here was just "somewhat hot", because yay microclimate. (caused by elevation)

That sounds more like England/Great Britain to me.
Because we get 24/7 Rain as per stereotypes that are total crap.

We just get a wildly varying climate, so we see more rainfalls.. but shorter durations.

Not really. Where I am it's not really that hot, and you're not that much further south.
Although, as I mentioned, I live in a sort of microclimate.
