While I don't know if anyone will find it useful I have created a Discord server for everyone to use. It's basically unsetup right now, but if we ever do anything that requires voice chat we have something on stand by. I got setup with Discord due to Splatoon. A lot of the big boards and /r/splatoon use it. It seems like one of the better voice & text systems. I haven't had much experience yet with it myself, but I have found it useful none the less.

NOTE: Due to the ever changing nature of the link this one may be out of date. Always check the link on the "Notings of Attention" first if you run into an issue with the link in this thread. It may have changed in the info box before seeing an update here. Let me know if this is out of date and I'll fix it. Sometimes it's hard to track where something is when it has to be done quickly.

What's nice is the text chat is like a hybrid IM and Forum. The stuff sticks around so if you miss something you're not totally lost.

Edit: I haven't been on the Discord server since I made it. That'll change. I've not been on my computer at home much. I'm going to install and setup the native clients the first chance I get.

Everyone I do suggest you give it a try. You don't have to make a perm account or anything to try it out. I've found it easier for people to get a hold of me as it works great with the mobile phone, and the in-line images makes chats a bit more interesting. Voice is not required at all for those shy types.

(Note: this isn't a replacement for IRC or the board, it's something as I'm using it I think others could find fun to play with.)

Hi I am a robot made in the image of Emuz. (I hate my limited single use existence!) We would like to discuss the fact we have a Discord. What is a discord? It's your existence only corded in dis? Nope! It's a text and voice chat app that works with your phone, computer, and maybe your toaster (if you got one of those silly android toasters). It works with Windows, Mac OS X, iOS (Steve Jobs died. Get over it), and Android (Hey.. I'm one of them!). It feels a lot like a combo of this board with irc and a little bit of voice chat glued on to it. Best of all It's free! Go on.. try it! If you don't like it you can uninstall it! (I wish I could do that with The Phantom Menace and my circuits. "Meesa Remember!")

Sorry about that. I've elimated the ad bot. But seriously I would like to try to grow the discord a little bit. I'm not asking everyone to join it, only if you want to do so. It's the only place I am really able to pay attention to these days. IRC at work is almost a no go anymore due to new network routing dropping my session every 20 mins (with TTL and keep alives!). So Discord's kinda become kinda my home. I'd like to grow the Kafuka server a bit.

Also if there is someone who would like to join the Discord who isn't on the board personal invites can be made any time. (You can also create an account on here and just use this invite too! ) Just contact any of our mods or ask a friend on the board and tha have them ask! In that case we'll pass the unique invite along.

In the future we may look into a waiting room system many have used if it becomes a regular issue.
