Adel's... just gonna ignore the whole Ani situation for now.

"It seems like we can all help alleviate that," he remarks to Sapphyre. "Almost all of us are capable of electrical manipulation." He slips behind the bar and has a look around at the available drinks.

"As for the Zarik case, have we got any more specific leads? 'Decently high-tech' is pretty nebulous, you know." Not that Adel carries anything too high-tech. Honestly, the most high-tech thing he carries might be the wire launcher, and even that's ultimately pretty simple.

"If it's a class of padlock," notes Adel, "there's a way to undo it if you can get something very thin into the shackle, I bet -- assuming it's not magical to any extent. I mean, we would need something very thin, like the metal from an aluminum drink can.

"I mean, the cutting torch would probably be the easiest, yeah, but somehow I feel like we might want to take a less obvious approach."

At least when it's cold you can layer more. If it's hot, eventually you can't take off layers, and peeling and clawing at your skin does nothing but hurt.

Well, anything is better than Windows 8.
What about 8.1?

Windows 7 may have limits, but it doesn't have a chip in it. Unless you dropped a chip into your computer.

However, I don't think that Windows 7 has speed limits. I know that you can't install a hard drive larger than 2 TB in a Windows 7 computer (if it's larger, you can only use up to 2TB of it), but something that affects how fast the computer runs? Not that I know of. (Though, if you're using 32-bit Windows 7 -- or really, any 32-bit OS -- you can't have more than 2^32 B (so, 4 GB) of memory.)

Also kind of like the Game Boy Color compared to the original Game Boy, although I don't think the GBC introduced too many upgrades (other than color...) from GB Pocket. The screen may have been better, or something. I don't know about the GB Pocket, but I'm pretty sure the Toaster had some awful ghosting. I don't really remember there being much of a ghosting issue on the GBC.

Okay, okay, now I'm rambling about something I don't know a lot of.

It was actually decently cool this morning, but got pretty warm in the afternoon. I'm kinda surprised that it's not ludicrously hot out since it was awfully nasty yesterday.

I have never really noticed Windows 7 be slow, but I haven't used anything else in freakin' forever.

Thinking there may be a reasonably major scuffle outside, Adel digs into his bag and pulls out two items -- a blue pistol and a handheld blade of some manner or another. He makes his way outside to see what exactly is going on and where.

He gets his answer pretty quickly, running up to the workshop.

"Aw, crap," he says, grumbling a little as he stows his small arms. "I should have brought heavier ordinance. This will have to do." He withdraws his wire launcher -- a tripod-mounted device of some sort or another, which is a bit difficult to identify at the moment, especially with the projectile covered as it is. "Might take me a second to get this up."

"I can probably get it done, too," Adel notes. "If you all can keep that thing busy while I'm off getting those, that's great. I guess just leave this thing here." At this he indicates the object which he has just finished setting up, which appears to be a miniaturized harpoon launcher. "Just tell me what to grab and I'll go get it."

"Yeah, I can't... really see myself doing a whole lot against most security systems in a place like this, unless they aren't nearly so magic-absorbing as that other thing was. Most of them probably can take shots from a pistol well enough. I guess some of my heavier weaponry can get the job done, maybe, but if I'm gonna be stealing something, I need at least one hand free."

Despite this, he took out his Luger pistol and leaned his head into the workshop, looking for a target. "Thankfully, I'm really good at making a swift escape."

What is Microsoft even going to do with Mojang?

We don't actually know. At all. (Which might be why people are freaking out. We don't know what they're going to do at all. They could do nothing. In theory, they could ruin everything. I personally err a little more on the side of nothing and Mojang is just a midlife crisis-type purchase.)

Well, I'd assume that's the hope. That's why businesses do most things.

I was in school. It was one of my first few weeks of fifth grade. They did as good a job as they could to try to scare the shit out of me about it.

Ugh, people on Ebay. Let me just briefly empathize: I bought copies of two games on eBay at one point (1: Pitfall: The Lost Expedition; 2: Armored Core Nexus). The first of which was photographed with the case being in near-perfect condition. It arrived not in the normal case, but in a case from a rental place. There was a receipt taped to the front of the manual and a huge tear in the cover insert. It also was scratched to high heaven and did not play, stalling after attempting to pass the "press start" screen (the person selling it claimed it worked fine). The second was stated as being "slightly scratched but still functioning." There was a scratch in it that looked like it had been made very intentionally with a pin. Needless to say, it did not play at all. I mailed both of them to my friend to try and fix them (she worked at a game store at the time). She told me that the disc for AC Nexus was so fucked up that any method of fixing it that could potentially work had a chance of destroying the disc entirely.

Honestly, I should have gotten extremely pissed about it and demanded, at bare minimum, my money back. I mean, I guess that's a risk you take buying that shit used, but still.

"Same basic set of skills," Adel states as he becomes the fourth into the shed. He is also the first to make his way any deeper. "Let's see what we can get out of this place. Thankfully, if we can only get something large and heavy, we have a pretty good-sized group to haul it out." He was expecting something he could, at the most, carry out on his back. If all the equipment was too large, though...

Ehhh, each to their own. I kinda find the Pokemon TCG game pretty fun, but you're playing with a very old card pool and most of those cards don't hold up for me in the face of the newer stuff.

As far as games go: I haven't played many one-player games lately, but I really need to get back to Transistor and Wadanohara. I have been playing ENTIRELY too much Dota 2 recently.

Console: Do you mean just out of current-gen consoles? If so, I'm massively biased toward the PS4 but haven't used any of them. If you mean overall, my favorite console is probably the PS2.

Games for Christmas: unless I get a current-gen console, then nothing for any of those. For PC there's some older stuff that I'd like to pick up on sale/get as a gift, such as Killer Is Dead (if I don't just break down and buy the really beat-ass copy of the Special Edition this one semi-local Gamestop has) or some of the other old stuff on Steam. For older-gen consoles, I would love to pick up... honestly, any Super Robot Wars games I can get hold of, since I've been curious about the series for a while.
