It's pretty damn simple, really. Though I like how it is.

I totally agree with this idea.
It'd be awesome and add a whole bunch more possibilities to what you can do with your layout.

What he means is adding a class to the table that contains your post.
As in, the table that the sidebar, two top cells and main bar are children of.

There is a little bug in the theme select box in editprofile.

If no users are using a theme, it displays () where the number of users should be, instead of the (0) you might've expected to be there.

Simple is nice!

My Favorite Window Manager used to be WindowMaker (I don't use it on my *NIX install save one VM now because it's poor Mutli head support for how I like) Very simple and clean too. Back in the day I stared using it only icons where the ones in the dock. (I ended up cluttering it up with a lot of launchers and WMdockapps but heh started clean)

Hmm, never used WindowMaker. What's it like?

I always enjoy trying out new WMs/DEs.

Wow, that's a tiny resolution.

How could you possibly live with that?

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K - 4.5GHz (overclocked from 3.4)
  • RAM: 8GB DDR3
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX560

I tend to use suspend (same as hibernate I think) in Linux a whole lot on my desktop when I go to bed/leave it for a longer perid of time.
On Windows (on my laptop), I never use either.

One way of also hiding the image would be to set the opacity of the spoiler content to 0 before the button is pressed, which then sets it to 1. You would not even need JavaScript for this.

Edit:
Hello there!
I'm a spoiler.

Edit2: fixed label — edit3: Herp derp.

What the fuck? Just found a peculiarity with that: the checkbox works on a per-instance basis, but the label attached to the checkbox only works for the first checkbox.

What the fuck is this sorcery.
That is because of the for attribute on that label. It is set to point to the checkbox in my post, which is the first checkbox of the page to have that ID set to it.

<label><input type="checkbox"> Foo!</label>

For is overrated and only useful if you have, for example, the label and the input in two different parent elements -- like AcmlmBoards do.
Though, how do you detect if the checkbox is checked with CSS in this way without putting the toggled content -inside- the label, which would be bad?

There is Dirbaio's board, NSMBHD which would fit in "The Second", obviously.

I must say I prefer the Linux permissions system as well.

Knowing that you are running as a restricted user and explicitly have to give programs permission to run as root by entering the root account's password is nice, in my opinion.

I also want to point out that sudo actually has a timeout; When you've entered the password once, you can use sudo all you want in a limited amount of time without having to type your password again.

You couldn't use the administrator account on Linux for your everyday stuff like you can on XP, though, as the root user can do literally anything. For example, dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/sda (Might've gotten that slightly wrong) would work and what it would do would be overwrite your entire hard drive with NULLs.

So, there are ups and downs to both of them. Windows' permissions system is more user-friendly, (but as far as I can tell, less secure), Linux' permissions system is secure, but it can be cumbersome to some users.

I never bothered to look for Windows 7 hacks as everything I want to adjust is in the registry anyway (not all parts of the registry in 7 are accessible for admin, but admin can grant himself access to them, hah :))
This is what I don't like about Windows' permissions.
Admin should be admin and have all rights to do anything, you shouldn't have to mess around to get said rights.
