Howdy y'all. :) Looks like I blinked and missed this place starting. With a new layout I had to try a new theme, and let me say that 'Tropicals' by roxahris is looking pretty swell right now.

This picture is getting a little outdated now, but since I'm not in pictures much I've always used it as sort of a 'stock image.'

If I had to pick a favorite from the NES era, this would probably be it.

Your sentiment about backlog problems is a bulls-eye. I still have quite a few games to play that I haven't so much as started yet.
In the mean time though, I just downloaded Cave Story, but I'm planning on trying it out either tomorrow or over the weekend. I have also joined a friend in playing through Resident Evil 5 in co-op, which ideally will be finished tomorrow, and I'm still hoping to get around to that Super Mario Unlimited hack at some point.

Though I'm not one of those "math people" my current plan is to major in chemistry and see where life takes me from there. Though I'm only in year two of my college education, so there's still sufficient time to change if I'm given reason for it.
As far as work, in the Summer I assemble and finalize windows.

And how do you pronoun Acmlm? :eyeshift:

I know I've asked the title question before, but have no recollection if there was a straight answer or not.

I've always used Ack-Lim too; it just rolls off the tongue fastest. But that's interesting, I don't think I'd ever heard what kafuka actually meant before. Sort of the spiritual successor of 'overclocked' then?

Mind if I ask why? The pharmaceutical direction has interested me in the past.

I would love to try my hand at a Mario 2 speed run. It's one of the few classic games I feel I could actually compete at.
As far as the method of connection, I propose starting a Kaillera server. I'm not sure what goes into starting a server of that sort, but it could make a good central hub for gaming competitions at the board, and due to Kaillera's structure, possibly attract some new users as well.

While I'll miss the freedom some places had if it passes, I imagine ideas like this one will gain a lot more traction.

The measures they're going to are extreme, I won't argue that point, but I will agree that piracy has gotten out of hand. There are people who can hardly use computers that torrent large amounts of data now, then brag about their activities in public and on social mediums such as facebook. I wouldn't mind seeing piracy pushed a bit underground again. It's gotten too easy, too widespread, and people have gotten careless because of it. If piracy would not have gained the traction and public acceptance it did in the first place, I don't think this bill would be here in its present form.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil.
I saw that one about a month back too. Not the most humorous movie, but I would still recommend it.

I watched Cowboys and Aliens last night. I found it very disappointing as a whole.

My first video game was the SMB1 + Duck Hunt as well, with SMB1 being the first I had ever played.

Besides that I remember Crash Bandicoot 2 being the first PS1 game I'd ever played, and Pokemon Blue being the first I'd ever emulated.

And the rest are just kind of a blur.

I've gotten Super Paper Mario to run on a GC emulator before with decent speed. That's about it though.

But for the purposes of cleanliness, I prefer emulators. I dislike having to deal with weaving and swapping plugs through a mess of cables every time I want to switch consoles. And I'm sure this is blasphemy to many of you, but I love the way classic NES games look when filtered and output to an HD tv.

Trel, you should consider picking up some cheap RCA splitters from Walmart (probably run you less than ten) and split the signal, running part of it to a TV.

Anyway, I've tweaked the hell out of my wrist this morning, bad enough to be wearing a brace for it. Right now, it's got me bummed and is making computing of any sort a real chore. Aside from that and an impending O chem final next Wednesday, my mind is pretty much at peace.
How have you all been?

The PVR has native splitting on it. It will allow a pass-through via a set of outbound component plugs, so that's not the issue. The issue is, however, that I lack an HDTV to output to.

Good news on that front, though, my brother has an old 27" TV that he's been looking to get rid of. I hit him on on Facebook tonight to get the specifics on it, and he said he'll sell it to me for fifty bucks. All I need to do is save up money. Luckily I landed that job at the gas station.

Ah yes, I misunderstood. I'm sure I've plugged the idea to you before, but if for some reason that doesn't pan out, I would highly recommend watching the free section of your local craigslist. It's probably furnished half my apartment by now, and I've seen quite a few lower-end HDTVs pass by. :P

Good to see you alive, Xeruss :D It's been a while.

Likewise Marz, in both respects haha. How long have you been into Magic?

Indeed, good to see you again Xeruss, welcome back!
And thanks Emuz! Good to see you too. Did that late-winter bronchitis hit your region too? For a short stretch, everyone I knew on the west coast had some strain of it.
