Yeah, I just tried.

I started off with NT 3.1 and worked my way up: NT 3.5, NT 3.51, NT 4, 2000. So far, so good, no major problems.

Then came XP. I inserted the disk and told it to install.

It restarted, and then I saw a setup screen, but no mouse (?). After a while it decided to restart again.

THen came the surprise - the screen stayed pitch black! Nothing! It did do something, as the CD-ROM drive and the hard drive could be seen working, but the screen didn't show anything. After an hour it stopped, so I hard reset the thing.

The boot-up must be the worst I have ever seen. Even my 8 MB Windows 2000 performed better than that. Also, it doesn't even finish correctly, it bugs out at the last second. Safe Mode is broken altogether.

It's a surprise that it's so much trouble to upgrade to XP, when you'd think that would be one of the most important things. Someone else tried the very same thing, and he got a bluescreen as XP tried to upgrade the system. Odd.

Remember the time, before the Internet went mainstream? When rumors spread by word on schools? Good times. Not.

What are the worst rumors in your opinion?

From the games I have played, I can remember these as being particularly bad:

* L is real 2401
* Mario's Factory (some stupid SMRPG rumor someone posted on gamefaqs and everyone immediately believed and spread)
* Triforce in Ocarina of Time, of course.
* Zelda being Link's sister
* Any method to get Mew before the glitch was discovered (including the truck, Bill's Secret Garden, ...)

mmm, I think my earliest memories date back from when I was about 8. I pretty much forgot anything before that.

And with Rarity I finally completed the Mane Six. That took way too long.

Case in point, check the display case section on the index. It will say "Last post: Gywall", but the link will lead to Emuz' post in the first DC thread, because the KCS threads were only moved into the Display Case, and this doesn't seem to update the link.
