My language of choice is Python.
Despite (or maybe due to) having written a lot of code in PHP, I'm not a fan of it in the least. It's horribly designed and mangles a whole lot of programming principles.
I know C enough to write simple command-line stuff, having renewed it a little recently.
I can do C# because that's what we're doing in school at the moment. I actually quite like it, but it's a shame how it's locked down by Microsoft, thus getting it to run on my OS being a pain.
Lastly, I'm pretty good with Z80 assembly. I've dabbed at ARM too, but I can't write it.

Oh, and I think I can do some Javascript too.

(I'm guessing I can't vote due to how recently I've registered.)

PHP: A fractal of bad design
You don't need to show me, I was among the first people who've read that page :P
But yeah, that is an excellent post.

To elaborate, turns out two random spambots claimed the name Kawa; check stopforumspam and check username in advanced. Go figure.

On linux, I generally use gedit. It's tiny, but does everything I want from it.
I'm also fond of nano for terminal shenanigans. I don't see any huge advantage in learning vim, and it would probably be messed up by colemak anyway.

The little time I spend on Windows, I'll use Notepad++ because it does syntax highlighting and tabs.

For documents or spreadsheets, I'll generally go for Google Docs. I especially like how simple it is to set up collaboration.

I gave them both a fair listen. While Caprice a very nice and relaxing piece, I'll have to vote for Tower of Babil, because it has something going to it.

A quick question: Are the nominations shuffled well before the voting, or do you just pick two songs as they go after each other? I feel like the latter is a bad idea, because you'll get songs from the same soundtracks competing.

There used to be an ancient trend where we only used a single period in smileys .) .D
Then there used to be an era where we used backwards smileys: (: d:
("we" being me and a small clique of friends. That was over five years ago.)

Both passed. In general, the oddest I'll use nowadays is the occasional :>, B), @_@ or, I dunno :V

I can't believe nobody mentioned this.
I could complain about a lot of stuff but this bothers me the most. Remember how the video description used to be to the right of the video? (Circa 2007.) I cannot fathom why would they put it UNDER the video. I remember always reading the description alongside the video. Now I have to pause it and scroll! I feel like this is a huge fault which is annoying and wastes everybody's time.

But I guess google changed that to put advertising :/
Oh, there's advertising... anywhere?
Sorry, sometimes I forget there are people who don't actually block ads. All I see there is related videos, to which I wouldn't mind scrolling because you usually want to see them after you're done with the current video, you know.

It's deep, subtle, slow and repetitive. I could handwave all that, but it doesn't really have a melody I could follow. I'm sorry, but I don't like it very much... I'm bad at rating but 40/100?

Since we're going down the calm and peaceful route, though, have Ikachan. I haven't heard it in a while myself.

Wow I completely forgot that this was a thing! You people need to ping me on IRC.
Listened to all four. First impresses:
Ice Palace is too slow and lacks both a kick and a memorable melody.
Molgera Battle is.. a theme alright. I can tell it a bit, probably have heard it on the radio.

Castle Bleck is alright. Nice instruments.
However.. Magus Battle is just Magus Battle. It's slightly repetitive and has a slow beginning, but..
(By the way, the sound at the end of the video is the time travel tune. The official soundtrack was released on three CDs, and the sound meant that you need to switch over to the next CD. Pretty clever, actually.)

Dragon Roost Island is a great and memorable tune.
Boss 2 from Gorky 17 is subtle, silent and atmospheric. Although I believe it must sound good in context of the game, it gets a no from me.

The Best Is Yet To Come is highly vocal. The song itself is great, packed with emotion.
I'm afraid The Moon is a classic, though... It's just something I could listen to forever.

I could listen to Positive Force hours upon hours.
I quite dislike the background track in Setting Sail, Coming Home. Additionally, since it's the ending tune, I imagine I'd have to see it in context. The vocals were average. I like the tune starting about 2:00, though it's brought down by the rest.

.hack - Phase 3 Magus the Propagation is vague, not anything astonishing, but pretty good.
The Solstice title theme... woah, this packs quite the punch. Haven't heard it before, but I like it!

Battle of Li'l Slugger is nice, epic, and has a pretty memorable tune to it (even if unknown to me).
Wily Stage 3&4 is.. Well, I dig Mega Man music. It's not too great... I guesssss I'm not voting for it.

Yo-Yo-Yoshi... The deep voice immediately turns me away. It doesn't seem to have much going for it, either... No, I don't like it, sorry.
Four Noble Devils is nice. Yep, I'm for.

Okay, this is hard. I love VVVVVV music. I'm yet to play Touhou, and I haven't heard U.N. Owen Was Her in an unremixed form before, but it's really nice. Were it against any other track, I'd vote for it, but I'll have to vote for Potential for Anything.

Noh Specter has a decent-ish tune, but sounds overly metallic. I'm against, and besides, Dire Dire Docks is great. Dundundundun dun dun ting…

Tetris is great and all, but Final Fantasy II Boss Battle A definitely wins. (Oops, though, I was expecting to hear the FFIV boss theme and was going to complain for wrong usage. Haha!) (Also, I can't find the NES original of this song. Does it not exist? I think there were better picks...)

Okami - Yami. Not exactly memorable, but good background music. I still need to play Okami...
Sorry, don't like Hell March too much compared to Okami music.

Sun Rises from Okami is yet another great tune (better than the last one). Sorry for voting Okami again, but the music is simply gorgous. I'm afraid it wins for me when compared to the tune of Dr. Mario.

Princess Peach's Castle is a.. medley, I guess. Yeah. Okay. Whatever.
The Ultimate Show is pretty good. Manages to convince me there's an epic battle going on, at least.

Lollipop Chainsaw - Boss 1 Phase 1 is.. meh. Not too bad.
As much as I think BW has the least good music yet, Route 10 is just great. Genius. Love it. Shame the route was so short!

From what I have heard, Mega Man X music is excellent... but Crash Site Ruins is so slow and bare. What's up with that? Not bad though, I can definitely hear a melody in there. Actually, sorry, never mind, it's pretty good.
Septette for a Dead Princess is great! Packs a punch. I like it. Touhou's music seems pretty good!

To be completely honest (and seemingly contrary to the popular opinion), I was never too fond of the original Sonic 3 miniboss theme. It sounds too passive.
As for the SMB overworld theme.. Well, it's a classic. I've heard it too much to objectively rate it. But it's probably decent.. I think I'm not voting in round 27.

Terra's theme is epic, and I do mean epic. I am yet to play through more than a little bit of FF6, but you can't say no to a song as epic as this.
Yet again, Touhou music is purely great. I'm afraid I'm not voting for it when against Terra's theme, though.
