Though I imagine IBM will be able to keep POWER going for a long time in the high-end market- they're one of the few who is big enough to keep up with Intel. It does seem like an inevitability that consoles will be much closer to PCs... though that strategy always failed in the past (Atari 5200, original Xbox), so it'll be interesting to see what happens here. (I call the original Xbox's architecture a failure only because Microsoft seems to have saw fit to replace it) |

Though the price is giving me pause anyway- I suppose if I was going to do this I should have done it when it was cheaper :/ |
