I always wondered about the possibility of faster-than-light travel and other science-fiction technologies. Teleportation, space colonies, that sort of thing. It's cool that science is starting to examine such ideas.

OK, I was just finishing a post on Kafuka a few minutes ago, when suddenly my computer went on the fritz. The mouse pointer wouldn't move, and then the screen suddenly went black. I had to reboot the computer to get the screen back.

Seriously, WTF, how does that happen?

Have any of you had computers run into mysterious problems/glitches?

Anyway, has anyone else here used SMBX? It's an engine of sorts that allows you to create your own Mario-style games and play others' games. You can pick elements from SMB1, SMB2J, SMB2US, SMB3, SMW, and even Zelda II and Metroid, to create your levels. Some more stuff was added, like different types of Yoshi and an Ice Flower that turns enemies into ice blocks that may be thrown or used as platforms.

I've been making my own game with SMBX although I haven't got very far, and given my tendency to not finish projects...

Can;t say I've been burned or broken a bone either. And my teeth are messed up too, I think I needed braces as a kid but my parents were too cheap for them

I never found any problems with the physics. Then again, everyone bitches about SMB1's physics and I don't have a problem with that either.

Run out of rewinds? Does the emulator limit your use of them or something? (I don't use ZSNES and I'm not the type to do savestate abuse and the like anyway)

Back when I used 98, I'd get jillions of blue screens of death. For just about anything, at any time.

Some people love 98. I am not one of them.

And the All-Stars block breaking was a bug, IIRC. The velocity was the wrong sign so Mario got pushed up into the ex-block rather than down. Someone made a patch for it.

Apparently there were a couple versions of Windows 98, though, some more stable than others

I do have this red dot just above my right knee, which is a relic of a scab I had there when I was about 4 years old. Always thought it was weird how the red spot never fully went away even 20+ years later.

It has Link as playable. Was supposed to have Samus but she never actually made it in before the project was abandoned.

I brush regularly, but I didn't floss, so the dentist harangued me about flossing as fi there was no worse crime in the world than not flossing.

So I started to floss nightly, and then the dentist bitched at me for breathing through my mouth, which is pretty much a necessity for me since my nose gets really stuffed all the time.

I got my wisdom teeth removed back in January. I was under anesthesia so I don't remember it. Iit was weird, like the 2 hours or so just vanished from my consciousness. No dreams, no passing of time, it literally felt like a minute or less instead of two hours.

One of my friends on Twitter (anyone remember Kasumi Astra?) pointed this out to me. Looks like an ordinary comic, but the bottom panel is draggable and, well, it is quite humongous. To the right you'll eventually hit a rendition of World 1-1 of Super Mario Brothers

I think that cutscenes can add to the experience in a story-intensive game such as an RPG or adventure game. However, they really should be made skippable. I don't like when I die after a cutscene and then have to watch the whole thing again.

Yeah, the iQue is a version of the DS that the real Nintendo markets in China.

Also, apparently that Ninetudo DS is simply an empty shell that looks like a DS and contains no electronics. What a ripoff, although what do you expect with a product that has to knock off a popular brand for anyone to buy it?
