His Pearl/Heart Gold team uses Dialga, Groudon, Cherrim, and Ho-oh instead... Which is BOUNDS easier to deal with in my eyes.

Luckily I also have HeartGold. What happens with the pokémon I transfered to the game if I re-sync with HeartGold? I have a...er, "trained" Metagross and Blissey in PBR.

I agree. I live at the 2nd floor and full grocery bags which weighs in at at least 3-4 kilos each can be a pain. Especially if one's been carrying them all the way from the store.

So I have about 11 VHS tapes full of pokémon episodes that I want to transfer to the computer with the best possible quality. Each tape is at least 3 hours long. If I can enhance the video quality somewhat, it'd be great but the next best thing is transfering them without any loss of quality.

I'll have to do something about the sound, though. It's not terrible but it sounds...cramped.

I've read that it depends on how good the VCR is and what kind of tools you use for the transfer. Mine is an LG DVD/VCR combo one. I know, LG isn't well-known for quality.

Next, I've read that using a DV Camera as a bridge is the best thing. The next best might be to use a DVD/VCR combo to write directly to DVD. The problem here is that you have no way of editing the videos. And I don't think that my LG combo is capable of burning to DVD. And I don't have a DV Camera either.

What I do have is a Dazzle DVC 100 which I have heard both good and really bad things about. When I tried to record me playing Megaman 3 (check my youtube account) I didn't like the results. Fat black borders around the video. And when I selected 60Hz on the computer, the video became black & white. Since then it's just been lying around collecting dust.

So, can anyone help?

A lot of mixed reviews on that one. And your video on the tube is lagging. Plus, there are those not-so-subtle lines in the video when there are fast movement.

However, that Honestech or Elgato one seems to have better reviews.

Well, I watched several episodes of the first pokémon tape we recorded. There are visual artifacts on the video (since my TV is a Full HD one) but not so much that it annoys me or distorts the video. Overall, the quality is good.

The sound could be better but it isn't terrible. You can clearly hear what's being said and all. Like, compare it to sounds with the sample rates of 22050Hz and 44100Hz. The sound on the tape sounds like it's being played in 22050Hz.

Kinda cramped, in other words.

Have any of you experienced annoyances and/or fuckups when using emulators like ZSNES/Snes9x/VBA/etc.?

I've noticed that both ZSNES and Snes9X have a tendency to crash on my computer. Sometimes it's enough just by pressing escape to get to the menu. Other times it may crash when I try to switch from Direct3D display mode to DirectDraw.

And if I load an earlier save state even when having a much more recent save in the actual game, and reset the game because I forgot to save, it reverts back to the in-game save I had related to the earlier save state.
