Actually, you'll have that issue happen because it's looking for the MBR when you do the transfer and for some odd reason W7 installs can go awry when you do a transfer from one drive to another. I did that from a hard drive to an SSD and got similar. It wasn't just a Windows Install DVD that could get by it either - anything that had an MBR that could boot into Windows (like a Hiren's BCD) could alleviate the problem.
I believe it was something to do with the placement of the System Reserved partition. I think mine ended up putting itself on another hard drive when I tried to get the new hybrid to work right and I eventually resolved it.
