Hi, I'm Rambly. I like anime and weirdo music and lots of silly geeky things like playing with different OSes and IRC and forums. I'm also told there are a lot of trans girls here -- I'm an Acmlm's-adjacent trans girl, so I almost feel like my appearance was obligatory. I also have kinda felt like I need to branch out and interact with more people lately, so, yeah.
I've known about this forum since close to when it opened, and I kept thinking about coming back and posting at some point whenever I remembered it existed. I forgot my password at some point, though, and didn't have the courage to pester anyone to get my account back until today. I dunno if I hold the record for longest time between registering and posting on a forum ever (over six years and two months!), but hey here I am. I'm exceptionally shy so I dunno how much I'll post even but hi!!! |

Posted by Danika Eeeeeeeeva!!! Goooood what an impeccably written and directed anime. I love love love love love like every frame of the original series. I first finished it like a month ago, so I'm actually newly obsessed. IT'S SO GOOD AAAAH Other anime I love: Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt (<333), Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Azumanga Daioh, Nichijou, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Toradora!... I've been watching Wandering Son and I can't call it a fav yet but it seems realllly good so far. I'm super super excited to watch more Trigger stuff, especially And if we're counting movies, I adore The Castle of Cagliostro, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, SPIRITED AWAY!!!! (fav movie of all time not even kidding), and Kiki's Delivery Service. <333 Really, I just love Ghibli in general... The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is also really good. |

Oh, gosh, do I even wanna post here
- Undertale made me cry on five separate occasions. FIVE. It's one of the only video games to even make me cry in the first place, and it made me do it FIVE TIMES. The Asriel sequence and the entire pacifist ending really had me going, ugh... but also the beginning with Toriel and even sparing Flowey at the end of the neutral ending -- I dunno, there was something emotionally disarming about the intensity and brutality of the fight, I guess, and having it over with and having to make that painful decision... - The ending of Toy Story 3. I TRIED SO HARD TO KEEP IT TOGETHER AND I COULDN'T UGH GOD DAMMIT EVERYTHING JUST JSDFKLDSHFDJSKLGHSKLGV - I lied, I cried at another video game: Kirby's Adventure, for some stupid reason. I don't understand why, either, but my friend got it for me for my birthday and I sat and beat it + 100%ed it in one day, and at the end of it all I just started tearing up and had to try and push it back down because I was out in the living room in front of her and it would have been so awkward and stuff. - I lied AGAIN because I forgot about NIER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh god, I haven't even played Automata but I know that's gonna make me cry like a baby. I had to sit and hold my tears after ending B, with Shadowlord and his daughter and everything, just, fucking god damn it because my roommates were there and when I finished I just immediately went into our room and let loose. God damn it. (and the ending where all memory of Father gets erased and Kainé and Yonah are all that's left -- I forget if that's C or D and I'm not even sure the endings have letter classifications -- made me tear up too) - OK this one's embarrassing but I promise it won't be (as much) after I explain it: I CRIED AT THE LAST EPISODE OF THE TONIGHT SHOW WHEN CONAN WAS HOSTING IT I'M NOT EVEN JOKING. Like, it wasn't because his run with the show was ending, I was a little bummed out by that at that age but it didn't make me too distraught or anything. It was, very, very specifically, the part where he gave a speech telling people not to be cynical and that it's his least favorite quality -- I don't know, it was at the beginning of 2010 and I'd just gotten done spending most of the past year being exceptionally cynical about everything because I was really unhappy with my life and his stuff about how if you work hard and be kind you can make good things happen just, ugh. I swear anything with that same message could have made me cry at that point -- that just happened to be The Thing. It was a gutpunch I really, really needed, but it was a gutpunch, nonetheless. - Mother 1. No, I don't know why that game, either. I was playing it with my then-girlfriend and I just finished the game feeling relatively unemotional about it when I was playing it but for some reason I just got the urge to bawl like crazy afterwards. - I cried a little the day I found out a friend of mine from a forum I went to and looked up to died. It's still hard for me to internalize the fact that he's gone sometimes... it doesn't feel right, or something... it's the same thing with Terra, although I don't wanna be too much of a downer... anyway, there's other online stuff that's made me cry, but that was more stuff that happened while I was talking to people and that's veering closer to personal territory >> - Like a million billion songs: - True Love Waits, Motion Picture Soundtrack (the live acoustic version), How to Disappear Completely, Reckoner, and Scatterbrain by Radiohead. My level of crying ranged from "tearing up a bit" to "basically flat-out bawling". FIVE DIFFERENT SONGS I SWEAR TO GOD THOM YORKE I SWEAR TO GOD - New Star in the Sky by Air. I don't know why, but I had a phase when I was 18 where I was committed to crying at every song ever for some reason - Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset by Modest Mouse (look, I was like, 18, okay. I was THE target audience and age for that song to punch me in my Feelings I swear) - Disappear by Dream Theater (I was like 15) (look don't make fun of me) (I'm almost tempted not to count this, but that'd be dishonest) Posted by Jamie Posted by Moonlight Capital Couldn't technically count these, but both of these got me extremely close. If I counted every piece of media that nearly brought me to tears but didn't technically, this post would be like an entire page long. |

Posted by ThieppyAm I fancy? I don't think of myself as fancy... Also, I probably would have come here at some point anyway (I'd considered coming back and posting at multiple points), but Jamie just happened to be the person who reminded me this place existed as I was finally brave enough to get someone to fix my account ![]() Anyway, thank you for the welcomes, everyone! Also hi mel, you seem cool, welcome~ |

I think right now I like Tanzanite -- I like the weird old computer aesthetic it has going with the textured backgrounds, plus I really like blue+purple+teal as a color combination... it feels really weirdly Windows 3.1.
I'm also really fond of Fish, the Fragmentation series (esp original Lagtastic), Black Matrix, Nostalgia, Resonate, Start of the Decade, and Daily Cycle. I might bounce around between those at some point depending on my mood. I also have always loved Xkeeper's take on Night, but I associate that with Jul and if I used it here it'd just confuse my dumb brain. |

November, easily.
It's like the worst part of fall -- after all the leaves have changed color and are giving that cozy fall feeling, but before winter sets in and you start getting that festive Christmas feeling, so all the trees and grass are just dead and brown. It's oppressively dull and miserable. Plus, I kinda hate Thanksgiving. Always reminded me of being forced to stay with my awful dumbass racist hateful grandparents... For years, I had a really bad recurring depression that usually sets in around November. It sort of went away after I moved and transitioned, but from the ages of like... 16-22 I'd get EXTREMELY depressed every November without fail. I called it the "November Curse". It probably started because I was hit by a really awful dysphoria+depression spell the November I was 16, which was still maybe the worst I've ever felt in my life... It's kinda weird that November is my least favorite month, actually, considering that it immediately follows my favorite (October!!!! Halloween!!!!!) The only other month I really dislike is July. It's just boring and the only holiday is some jingoistic garbage (I hate the 4th of July) and it's got all of the stupid hotness of summer without the cool sunny day "sitting on a towel on the beach" or "by the pool with a fruity drink" vibes. Also y'all be nice to February, I was born then ;__; I promise it's not that bad, it's like the only month you can plaster pink+red+white hearts all over everything and it's socially acceptable |

Yeah. I think seasons 7 & 8 are probably my favorites, but pretty much everything from seasons 2-8 is really good ![]() |

August was actually pretty good for me, all things considered. Actually, so was July, and that's usually not a terribly great month, as I mentioned before...
September's turning out to be kinda crap though, bleh. |

Posted by DanikaI can't speak for Nicole but I'm mostly pretty gay and I love stars!! If my post layout where 1/3rd of the symbols are stars wasn't a giveaway... Is Satan nice? Are demons generally pretty nice people? Is the stuff they say about the climate true? Do lesbians tend to like pentagrams as symbols? Actually that's probably more Wiccan than Satanic I guess, which means I might actually be answering my own question |

I dunno if I've ever seen you (I was barely on SMWC at all, and even then only early on for ROM hacks occasionally) but you seem cool nuff. Hi!
Thanks for the welcomes, Nicole and Dani. Even though I think you two prolly know me at least fairly decently already ![]() |

For my laptop, which I mostly do stuff like web browsing and chatting on (and occasionally music stuff), I'm using macOS High Sierra. It's hackintoshed -- I just tried it on a whim since I realized my laptop actually ran an Intel chip and kinda fell in love with the UI. Someday I'd really like to get a proper Mac, but I'm broke. I was dual booting Windows 10, but I got tired of dealing with Windows Update constantly breaking so I just kinda figured it wasn't worth the effort, especially since I already have access to a Windows computer.
My desktop, which is my main computer and the one I do most "sysadminning" (if you could call what I do that ![]() I also have a VPS which is running Ubuntu 18.04. It's been pretty fun to maintain it, actually. It feels like a cute little project that I can come back to and work on sometimes... right now I'm only really using it for an IRC bouncer and some web projects, but also just to sate my desire to learn more about Linux and bash and running servers and security and all of the tools available. |

^ That's hard to answer. Kinda? My computers are pretty old, I don't think my laptop is technically supported by its manufacturer anymore, and I use a lot of obsolete OSes in VMs, but I don't own any vintage computers, unfortunately. I'd like to, someday...
