I finally got my new PSP running custom firmware, and I decided to test out the video out since I kinda need it for something I'm planning for my let's play of Final Fantasy II. I found that directly using standard definition video out works fine from the main menu and in PSOne Classics downloaded from the Playstation Network, yet playing a PSP game (both from a UMD or an iso thereof) you need to be using HD output.
My question is quite simply this: Why? It doesn't make any fucking sense to require that since the system's screen is a mere 480x272. Hardly high definition by a long shot. Let's not forget that you can play the aforementioned PSOne Classics in full screen on the PSP though the video out without the fucking thing crying about it. I don't think it's very fair that they released a component cable that isn't even fucking compatible with booting games, let alone getting gameplay.
I then went to do a little bit of research into a homebrew solution. I found a plugin called FuSa that supposedly bypasses the HD requirement by overriding the output by a sort of emulation. That's all well and good in theory, until I had to try three different versions of the plugin on five or six different firmwares and ultimately coming up with nothing.
I'm pretty pissed off, and I think it's pretty well justified.
Waiwaiwait...
You're having problems streaming/recording PSP stuffs?
What about RJL 0.19? I've had no problems using it. Not the best thing ever made but it's the best thing you can use via USB.
^-- Like so.
